Track precision app

Version 3.2 includes CarPlay integration; that sounds promising (but also distracting?)
I’m looking forward to giving it a go; too bad that the foreseen track day in Castellet (Circuit Paul Ricard, France) for next week is cancelled due to travel restrictions and closure of borders in France.
Stay safe, folks!

It populated in my settings on the phone but later disappeared altogether. Typical.
Edit- now that I'm not connected to the car, it appears on the list of CarPlay apps. There's something at miss here. I'm not sure how to interact with the PCM using this.
For me it would work as I attach my phone away from my field of view at the track.

I took a couple of pics on the screen of the Macan, and at least the app can be launched and it loads the closest race track on its database. I guess I have to connect to the 911 to see something meaningful. I’ll have a look and report back.

I hooked up the Track App after the update and it seemed to work quite well. It allowed me to create my own track via the PCM interface (just some neighborhood streets) and everything operated normally. The one caveat is that when connecting to the car wifi you need to turn data sharing (i believe it was called) off or uncheck it. Once I did that it was great. Now if I can get a window mount phone holder that doesn't shake like crazy I will be in business for the next track day...whenever that might be.

I recently changed to a 2017 991.2 Carrera S that seemed to have a lightly newer version of the PCM firmware. App works well, as long as you remember to charge your phone. The RAM window mount for the phone worked great for stable video.

I need to change the position of my phone for my next track day (point it lower) in a few weeks but other than that and the fact that the video exports to KPH only, it works pretty well. I am using the X Mount and have Image Stabilizer turned on (in app).

I have the same issue, turns out it always says that but it’s connected. I know lame Evidently they build great cars and crap software 😀😀 just try it even if it says no connection it will work

Connection through wireless CarPlay and this app is using 2.4gHz only, It failed to record video for me. 5ghz won't even connect.
Wired connection worked fine but it's clunky to have the wire right in the middle of the dashboard. Very shaky recording, requires a sturdy support.

I would delete and reinstall the app, just in case. Set up the Wifi connection and be sure that location services is always on for the app. I generally connect via wifi first (also have bluetooth on as well). Once it shows up in the app as ready I also use a cable to plug it in. That way I can control it via PCM interface. It has at times gone wonky on me but I have been able to record at 3 of the local tracks. Recently did Streets of Willow, which was not in the app, so I manually created it. The start/stop location was off but it overall worked well. Note that I forgot to turn recording on to its highest resolution so this recording is not the best. Still exporting in KPH unfortunately.

I traded cars since then, it solved the problem but it's not an economical way to solve this.
Now the app needs gps but the phone settings for the app doesn't give the option. Of course the Porsche support is unsupportive.

I updated to the latest version yesterday, and I can no longer open any of my recordings; the app just crashes as soon as I tap on a recording. Anyone else experiencing this?

Track Precision app not working for me
I could not make the track precision app working, tiring since some time.
My car is 991.2 Carrera 4s, the car have all the needed options: Sport Chrono + Phone module (EL5)
My PCM4 software version is MHI2_ER_POG11_K5182
The phone is showing "Function not enabled"
Porsche Navigation & Infotainment Services and Car Connect Services subscriptions are active.
Data sim card inserted and working in the PCM4 sim slot.
