I've been playing with this after using it on last Sunday's first drive in my new GT3, and the latest version is quite a bit different than what I had on my GT4. It looks like they simplified it greatly but maybe it lost some of the more advanced functions. Thanks for the hint on changing the language to English (UK) so the Preparation menus are in English. I can't find an explanation of the on-screen graphics. Most are self-explanatory, but I'm not sure about the ones on both sides of the performance meter. I'm guessing the ones of the cars on the right indicate oversteer or understeer, but what's the round graphic to the left of the meter? Thanks!

 

Porsche Track Precision APP

Anyone have any idea on getting the video to play mph instead of Km ? My settings are set to English , when I look at the data ( Analysis) on the phone it shows mph , Summary has Max Speed in MPH ,

I used the app at Daytona for PCA OctoberFast , app had issues picking up start/finish line, sometimes it never recorded times or video and other times my lap times were recorded for 2 laps

 

I can't get it connected on my gt2rs now, just hangs or displays "function not enabled"... I used it before successfully, any thoughts? I pinged customer care several times but nothing.

 

Looks like its not picking up the cars wifi , do you see it listed with car on ? Also another member suggested deleting the app and reinstall.

i discovered some disconnects from the Car and would like to share a solution with you.
If you have no SIM Card installed it helps if you disable the option “Share data connection” within the “Data connections” menu in the PCM. (you don’t have Data to share actually)
Some other Problems solved with this, because the App is connected constantly to the car.
You get to the “Data connections” menu as follows:
1. Press the „PHONE“-Button
2. Press the „OPT“-Button
3. Click on „SET PHONE“ on the PCM screen
4. Click on „Data connections “ on the PCM screen

 

I have a 991.2 GT3 without the sport chrono and it works fine.

I'm so frustrated, when I was on the track over the weekend, the app crashed on almost every session that I did. Then once I was able to get a session on the App, I can't overlay the GoPro footage.. the app is awful! I'm very tech savvy and have been messing around with the track app for a few days now.

 

They should just buy VBOX or something else that works better than their part-time effort yields.

 

The fix appears to be quite simple a least on an iphone11

(1) delete the app
(2) re-download the app
(3) re-boot the PCM

Go through the set up procedure

other key points

(1) in the iphone settings for the track precision app ensure the gps setting is set to "on all the time"
(2) in the iphone setting for the WIFI ensure its set to "automatically connect"

I had the previous version working without problem. After the upgrade I had problems with connectivity and drop out.

having done the above those problems have gone away and the app is working well.

The app is very impressive when you finally get it working.

Also - I have a full racelogic implementation in one of my older cars - from a practical POV, I prefer the app and was very happy with the last iteration of the last version. Overall I think the new version is better, full data logging will be added shortly.

 

Did you have to do anything special to get it to work in your C2S? What's the manufacturing date shown on the little metal plate in the door?

Version 3.2 includes CarPlay integration; that sounds promising (but also distracting?)

I’m looking forward to giving it a go; too bad that the foreseen track day in Castellet (Circuit Paul Ricard, France) for next week is cancelled due to travel restrictions and closure of borders in France.
