I scanned the thread and couldn't find the password for the screen dim adjustment. Is there a separate PW for that adjustment?

I tried to contact the seller on Aliexpress but got no response.
Any suggestion for it? Thanks!
Yah I have had other units that had a toggle for the use of an OEM camera OR aftermarket. I didn't see that toggle in our CHSTEK unit.

Also, as Andy said, no nav or audio information will be available in the cluster display, but those maps are dated anyway. That's pretty much it. There can't be much locked behind the PCM because Porsche sold cars with just a shelf in the head unit spot if you wanted. All the needed controls are available in the instrument cluster display, and the aftermarket head units can also control vehicle functions via CANBUS.
I think we lost all steering MF controls like volume/phone etc as well ? (not that i have it ). And the cluster display also loses the Phone integrations? How about Mic? does this unit uses the car mic or it's own mic?

I don't have steering wheel controls, but they do still work with aftermarket headunits as far as I know. My Chstek unit has a menu for programming them. To be honest I forgot about the phone menu in the cluster because I didn't use it, but yes, that would also be gone. The headunit comes with its own mic.

lol, honestly both solutions are same in the amount of effort. The PCB isn't that hard or complicated, if you can add RAM or change your PC motherboard CPU, you won't have any problems with this solution. BUT, I am not going to pay $500/$600 for a stupid $50 PCB solution or that $100 boxed PCB solution. Time for those sellers to get a grip of themselves.

Confirming the above. Steering wheel controls work, you lose the phone info in the MFD and the Chstek has an inbuilt mic which most people use, but there is also a standard 3.5mm adapter for you to plug in an external mic.

Thanks for confirming. That's a bummer, but I guess it's fine if you don't use the phone in the car often. AFAIK, most of these external mic is terrible compared to the built-in mic. At least the steering buttons still works which is really great though I have none on mine for now.

Re the phone, all you lose is the phone info in the MFD. With CarPlay or Android Auto the phone display on the main HU screen is way better than either the PCM or the MFD display and far easier to use.

You can buy a good mic for not much money and plug into the back of the HU. My Panamera unit gives me the option to use the OEM mic, but the unit in the Cayman doesn't so I installed an external mic. I located it on top of the driver side A pillar, with no visible wires. It looks pretty neat but you have to look closely to even notice it. Steering wheel buttons, if fitted to the car, still work as usual - you just have to program them one at a time in the relevant settings page. After that they all work as before.

Excuse OT post, but I know some in the thread are considering getting a Pedal Commander. If you are in the UK, you can get £35 off on the PC website using the code DAD35. Valid June 11 to June 17. Similar offers may be available in the US too - check locally.

Does anyone know what the voltage is of the pre-outs, it doesn't seem to be listed on the CHKSTEK website. I'm looking to add an amp so hopefully 5V.

Most of the time these are 2-4V, but I am running external amps on the pre outs without any issues.

Yes it does, works perfectly for me

Have you connected it via USB for the initial setup?

It definitely does. What makes you think it doesn't? How are you trying to set it up? What phone are you using? I assume you have been able to set up AA using a USB cable? Is BT turned on on your phone and on the HU? Do you have Zlink on your HU?
