I feel like my .1 will be my first “eternal car” unless I splurge for a GT3. The 992 I hope does well (for the sake of the 911) but it won’t be the visceral and raucous “Sunday driver” I crave out of *my 911.*
If anything, I’d rather go backwards to a 997.2. I’m not looking for a 2 door Panamera. With those turbos sucking out sound from the 3.0 + that ultra luxury trend tech interior, the 992 will be the most soulless 911 yet. I already know it.
But hey, it’ll be even faster on public roads! Big whoop. That’s what we’ve been clamoring for all along.

I can’t believe that’s real. Would assume it would look like the Panamera interior, including the shifter, which I don’t like very much (what was wrong with the stick?) but is less hideous than that.

When sending prototypes out for road testing, the temptation to troll people must be overwhelming. If they'd stopped with the shifter, I'd have fallen for it, but the cupholder was a bridge too far.
