The .2's might have more linear curves, but the way the power comes on and how it inspires you to drive makes it feel less "linear" in a less fundamental, more feel sort of way. Also, "linear" is used a lot to substitute for throttle response. E.g a direct linear throttle response vs a boosted response which brings upon brief lag, into a swell of power.
I was commenting only from a "feel" perspective. randr was using technical data to make the same point. The power delivery of my 991.2 is VERY nice and linear.

Well I own both - you don't So my comment is absolutely accurate and based on experience and data.

This is a thread about 991.2 problems, to which I was going to add the alcantara roof liner in my .2 is loose at the rear. The original clips need to be replaced - new ones are on the way.

"Feels more linear" is somewhat subjective. It IS more linear, but the mind may not perceive it that way. The fact that I didn't feel like I needed to rev it out gives a less linear sensory experience to me. The snap-throttle turbo lag also took away from what I consider linearity. The .2 power curve feels very flat to me, starts strong and stays strong, whereas the .1 feels more like an ascending climb. Coming on cam is partially where the climb "tricks" the (my) mind into feeling like it's pulling more linearly. "Linear" is clearly not the most accurate word to use (for us), but for me, it's more trying to describe a sensation.

subshooter: Can you describe how you get that stutter (where it comes on and how)? Thankfully my car doesn't exhibit that at all.

This thread is about problems with the 991.2 - KA take your 991.1 stuff elsewhere please. PS there is no such thing as snap throttle turbo lag.

Whoops, my bad, I must've gotten confused about what thread I was in.

They were a response to R-Rateds inaccurate statements - you will then see I pointed out the problem with my roof liner clips.

A lot of rattles even when the car was new. I had to take it to the dealer and they changed the rear seat belts because they were making a lot of noise.... maybe something was loose.

I'm currently discussing with my dealer about a noise (bang) that shouldn't be there.

https://youtu.be/-gwIPZvqTYQ

Dealer is telling me that the noise is coming from a valve in the AC unit and that new cars also have the same noise. If you ask me, this a BS explanation. I've never heard a car with this kind of noise being explained as a normal thing.

Beside that..... love the car. Sound not an issue for me.
A few months ago, I had a thumping noise... and it was the A/C system. There was something wrong with the A/C compressor and/or the switch, which was causing a problem with the fluid lines on the ride side of the car, hence the thumping. It only happened when the car was warm, and the A/C would kick in, which explained the sporadic frequency. Didn't sound exactly like yours, and would thump every second or two, but it did sound similar.

I started R-Rated off with a rib that his "weight and lag" comment neglected to add the notorious vacuum sound as another .2 problem. He didn't pick up my sarcasm.
No problems on my 8 month old C2 with only 2500 miles. Love it,even with the "lag, vacuum sound and non-linear throttle response".

Is the lag really that noticeable?

16 months, 9k+ miles. No problems —except that it’s put away for winter.

I picked up Interwebz aren't to be so serious. It's about 2 years in and no catastrophic issues; a good sign.

Like any car, if you are in the right gear for the acceleration you want, lag is minimal to none.
No regrets, the .2 is a joy to drive and very fast.

Agreed. So far so good for me. Nothing to return to dealer for in almost 9 months.

No. Not at all. I have 5000 miles on mine and I don't notice it. I have the base engine which will have less lag than any of the three 3.0L engines.

8 months 8000 miles zero problems except for a faint tweety bird sound by my left ear but that could be caused by numerous motorcycle offs. Also one should be warned that the car does have a bad issue with speed limits. just a rumor I believe.
