I think what a lot of people consider to "linear" is different. True, in technicality, power torque curve will show actual linearity. But in terms of feel, people use "linear" on the N/A cars a lot more because it gives a more linear sensation. Low start, climb, into big climb above 4K RPM's. It's more sensory. The .2's might have more linear curves, but the way the power comes on and how it inspires you to drive makes it feel less "linear" in a less fundamental, more feel sort of way. Also, "linear" is used a lot to substitute for throttle response. E.g a direct linear throttle response vs a boosted response which brings upon brief lag, into a swell of power.

This is a thread about 991.2 problems, to which I was going to add the alcantara roof liner in my .2 is loose at the rear. The original clips need to be replaced - new ones are on the way.

subshooter: Can you describe how you get that stutter (where it comes on and how)? Thankfully my car doesn't exhibit that at all.

This thread is about problems with the 991.2 - KA take your 991.1 stuff elsewhere please. PS there is no such thing as snap throttle turbo lag.

My 991.2 Base Carrera is a little bit more than one (1) year old and it has almost 10.000 kilometers. Problems ?
A lot of rattles even when the car was new. I had to take it to the dealer and they changed the rear seat belts because they were making a lot of noise.... maybe something was loose.
I'm currently discussing with my dealer about a noise (bang) that shouldn't be there.

Dealer is telling me that the noise is coming from a valve in the AC unit and that new cars also have the same noise. If you ask me, this a BS explanation. I've never heard a car with this kind of noise being explained as a normal thing.
Beside that..... love the car. Sound not an issue for me.

No problems on my 8 month old C2 with only 2500 miles. Love it,even with the "lag, vacuum sound and non-linear throttle response".

I started R-Rated off with a rib that his "weight and lag" comment neglected to add the notorious vacuum sound as another .2 problem. He didn't pick up my sarcasm.

8 months 8000 miles zero problems except for a faint tweety bird sound by my left ear but that could be caused by numerous motorcycle offs. Also one should be warned that the car does have a bad issue with speed limits. just a rumor I believe.
