Default 2018 991.2 spasm ride height higher than 991.1 spasm?

Hey guys, I have a 2018 carrera S with spasm and rear axle steering. I've noticed that the car isn't quite as low as my previous 991.1 Carrera S with spasm. Does the RAS have any affect on ride height for the .2? I've done a direct comparison with my old car and the wheel well gap is definitely not the same per finger measurements. I love the look of the .1 with spasm and just assumed the .2 would be identical. It seems to be about 1/4" or so difference. Can anyone confirm this or shed light on this issue? Also, should the .2 gts and carerra S with spasm have identical ground clearances?

Maybe your dealer forgot to remove the shipping blocks on the suspension. It does look high for a SPASM car.

If anyone is curious and wants to take a minute to compare measurements, I got 13.5 inches from the top of the center wheel cap to the bottom edge of the rear fender well. See pic. Value is for the rear only. I measured the front too and it was a tad lower.

Wow, that really is a big difference. I would have guessed that was a PASM car rather than a SPASM car.

Rear

Front

I'm not sure about the front but the rear definitely look like shipping blocks. Can anyone confirm?

That looks like the exact issue I had with my VW GTI delivery almost 15 years ago. They delivered it with the shipping blocks and they looked almost identical to what's in your picture. I don't own a 911, so you'd probably want someone else to look at theirs and confirm.

Found my post from back then, but alas no pictures. From what I remember it looked just like that though.

Fairly certain the shipping blocks are still in there. I'd swing by the dealer and show it to them.

I took a measurement earlier this morning after seeing your initial post which varies from yours. I have a SPASM .2 with sport package (RWS). I will try your measurement locations as well. Might be better because you would have to allow for tire wear with mine (8,000 miles). That said, from tire well to straight edge on top of tire is 1 and 1/8". My straight edge is 1/16" for a total of 1 and 3/16".

Ok, I have time on my hands so I replicated your dimensional measurement.

I placed a small line level on the straight edge and measured up to bottom of well. Here is the result on the measurement on my rear wheel.

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to do this. I re measured and could not even fathom coming close to your results. So apparently my car does not have an option that I paid for. This is truly bizzare! Could it even be possible that they forgot to add spasm on the assembly line??

I was one of those people who had shipping blocks left on the suspension of my then 2006 GTI but in these pictures I don't see the blocks. SPASM is lower on 991.2 than it is on 991.1 and your car just looks like a normal PASM.

Post your build sheet. If you ordered it and it's not on the car, I'd return the car.
