Anyone used the Cobb tuning software mods? How about the Bilstein B16 suspension? I current;y am running a GT3RS but being up here in the rockies am considering going fully insane with a track modded Turbo S. Love the RS but getting deeper and deeper into this whole Track thing and .1 Turbo prices make a a great starting point.

I just talked to Sam (by Design) about Cobb this week, but have not pulled the trigger yet. He's know for straight line cars, but knows track, too. I have not thought much as far as Bilstein yet either, but you are right about the .1 being a prime candidate for a great track car!

Sam says the Cobb PDK software makes the car feel very similar to the PDK-S. I have no trouble running with/past 991 GT3RS's with the minor stuff I've done, and forget about the GT3's. Talk to TPC racing about suspension. They make/distribute the DSC V2 and also do winning race cars, so they know the deal for this stuff.

My only experience tracking the Turbo S so far was during euro delivery at Spa with the car as it came from the dealer. Still managed 2:44.3 on a slightly damp track with a passenger on OEM p-zeros with OEM alignment (understeery), which is better than I expected being first time on this track and first time tracking this car. The car is a monster - it consistently outdragged a lightly modded R8 V10 Plus on the uphill straight, even after 30 minutes driving. The fast lap starts at 16 minutes.

no bouncy feel to suspension during side-to-side switches - PDCC a friend rather than a foe
that engine - it just pulls, no heatsoak (although high-speed track helps there) and no turbo lag at all. There might be lag when stabbing the throttle in the traffic and going from 1500RPM to full tilt, but during track driving there is absolutely no lag because the boost is always there, so there is just no reason for lag. Throttle response is pretty much equivalent to NA. I checked on data logs, and it's pretty amazing how boost is always there and acceleration matches throttle input without delay.
Swallows curbs like an SUV - almost no penalty for using most curbs
AWD is a masterpiece - when not enough rear grip, it sends just enough torque to the front to exploit the front grip for extra speed, but still not enough to cause understeer or to mask the grip imbalance beyond recognition. It would make it a terrible car to learn on for someone just starting out because it does hide things from an inexperienced eye(or butt) somewhat, but someone with enough experience should be able to feel proper weight balance just fine, without AWD confusing things.
Ventilated seats :-)

Tires - well, that's clear with P zeros. But even with MPSC2s, I do not see how there will be enough tire at the front. No wonder many go to wider tires.
Brakes are overboosted - hard to modulate. Would much prefer lower boost of brakes, like on GT cars. Maybe less grippy pads will help.
Stability control slightly too intrusive still. In a GT3, it interferes only when the car is already at a suboptimal slip angle, so it would not ruin a fast lap because the lap would not be fast even without an intervention. In the Turbo it interfered even at slip angles necessary to go faster. I would have been faster without it, but I was not brave enough.
Gearbox sometimes got confused and upshifted to fuel economy mode when stuck behind someone preparing for a pass, but not a big deal.
Engine does not change volume and pitch much as revs rise - almost the same sound between 5K and 7K. Feels weird, but not a biggy. Needs exhaust.
Aero is practically non-existent, which together with lower-grip tires made some high-speed curves into real corners rather than crooked straights.
Fuel tank very small - needed to drive to a gas station after every dry session or every other wet session
In general, very happy with the car after this and 3K on the road. I am not planning to track it much - will keep a GT3 in California for that - but will track it Turbo just to hang out with other car people when in Canada. I will add DSC, maybe less grippy pads and more grippy tires, and exhaust.

Burning Brakes
My final comments after having fine tuned the DSC calibrations and run several tracks. I set-up Sport to be very track like, firm calibrations with high sensitivity and response. Left regular mode soft for a nice street ride. My two bits comes with significant experience and skill set on track, 30yrs, many types of cars, advanced/instructor, driving beyond the edge ... no brag just perspective intended. Love the config I have, chases down Cup cars, GT3 RS etc. The DSC is a good contributor. I feel no need for coilovers, larger sways. At best progressive springs are better on track for sure, but on the street they're still not close to an OEM or better ride. To each his own but I'm content with the elements and config on the car now, it's capability speaks well. Good luck with whatever you choose.
The car is my DD as well as my occasional track car and I don’t (yet) have a second set of wheels, so I run MPSS street tires for both. Consequently, I don’t plan on altering the default settings, at least for now. But it would be great to have a few tips on how to go about it, as the controller did not come with any instructions. It looks like there is a mini-B USB port on the edge of the unit.

Weather got nice here and a cold event scheduled. Took the PZeros and tracked with frost in early am. Some good sliding sessions, but controlled. One way to hone the skills well, love our AWD. Had a stocker on slicks try to stay in front in am when dry but he soon wound up farming. Beautiful day that became an ideal afternoon. Sacrificed the PZeros, fairly thrashed but worth it, temps too low for other tires. I see some new R7 sizes coming in 20's. May try and get rears set-up for 335 if possible clearance, will see.
