Ballzy to say the very least! I rode dirt bikes and sport bikes for many many years and did some stupid stuff on them and have many injuries / surgeries due to them.
Not sure I'd want to make that my last ride if it happened to fail at that very moment...
Two friends of mine got their GT-R's back from some big builds. One putting down 1400whp and the other 1200whp going onto 2000whp after he tranny gets an upgrade.
They've been seeking out some of these stupid underground meets where all the "fast" cars go... A better way to put it is a meet full of inept, egotistical sociopaths.
Upon arriving, I ran into an acquaintance from 14 years ago. After talking to him for the first time in a decade, nothing's changed. Still the same guy who only races cars he knows he will win, and lies about HP numbers/mods. Now, I find myself at parking lot full of this type.
My TTS is on stock boost levels and at times not even making full boost due to a v1 tune in progress. I came with my friends to watch only (really).. Of course, everyone wants a piece of the Porsche in the whole sea of jalopy cars. Former acquaintance sets me up with a race and I agree just to be agreeable and not party pooper... I ask which car and they point to a 5.0 mustang with the biggest hood bulge I've seen, skinny tires up front an massive slicks in the back... Okay, I know I'm gonna lose but lets just do it for fun. Why not?
Next thing I know, I'm being confronted aggressively with profanity by some junky people. Trying to put down money. I told them very clearly I don't race for money, don't need money, and that I was going to lose anyway to a car pushing "800whp". Granted, the mustang owner wasn't about putting money down but the losers in the crowd were. Friends of the mustang driver put down $300 against someone who was with us even though I told them not to. Race was supposed to be 60-150. Whoever reaches 150 first wins.
Some really nice kid begged me to ride shotgun, I let him come along and record.
I won. Feel sorry for the Mustang owner, but karma's a B.
I stopped street racing years ago because I witnessed some bonehead do a u - turn in front of a couple of guys beyond 110/120 MPH - that was enough for me thanks.
Seems as if those types are still around. Congrats on the 'W'.

Yeah, it ain't my schtick either. Especially in this car. Car meets in random parking lots and street races = collective IQ of a Neanderthal.
