Installed bigger intercoolers for the turbo from Payam @ burgertuning. They’re very well made and good quality stuff especially for the price. Plus you get a discount when you’re a member. Cheers.

How difficult is it to remove the back bumper cover and hatch panels to get all this exposed?
I'm always hesitant to remove body panels but I understand that is the only way to get it done.

Thanks for the feedback!! We've sold a bunch of sets to customers already, just seems most of them are not on the forums. OEM PNP fitment, just need some trimming on the air ducts like all other intercoolers would for the thicker core. Fits both 991.1 and 991.2 Turbo/S models. Email me if you're interested and get the Rennlist member discount

I’m 6’3” and 250 pounds and the XL fits great, the seats are so comfortable that no joke, I literally nodded off in them twice while trying them out, once in the living room and once in the car....went for a short drive to try it out in motion and love em.

the seats are light as a feather; about 7.5 pounds, but the GMG brackets are way too heavy for my liking, will try to figure out a way to hard mount at least the drivers seat in the right position to be comfortable and shed that bracket weight.

even so the stock 18 ways were 66.2 pounds and these with the GMG slider brackets and all the hardware to attach a harness for race days came in at 18.3 pounds

so that’s a 95.8 lbs weight reduction

i have the antigravity battery that saved 50 lbs

saved an average of I think it was 9.1 pounds per wheel with my a magnesium wheels for 36.4 pounds total savings

And my Kline Inconel exhaust and Inconel headers saved about 35 pounds

Added probably less than 15 pounds with bigger intercoolers and turbos but let’s call it 15 lbs

so total weight reduction I guess is about 202.2 pounds...which should get my heavy Cabriolet down pretty close to stock Coupe weight. Of course the coupes can take a similar amount of weight out too, but I think this is about as light as mine will go, can’t think of anything else to lighten that won’t take away from it also being a comfy GT cruiser when asked to be

That is impressive weight savings.

I bet you could save a lot more by swapping out all the body panels for carbon ones...

hey! Anything you need to do on this car you need to remove the rear bumper. I had my Porsche guy do it, so it was a piece of cake. He told me the intercoolers are good quality and the install isn’t too difficult really. Cheers

it’s pretty simple, just a bunch of screws in the wheel well, on the edge of wheel well, on the underside perimeter and on the top edge of bumper. Also need to pull the tail lights to get to another screw holding the bumper. Tail lights are two screws I think, and then slide out.

All are east to get to accept one on the edge of wheel well under a small plastic flap. Get the smallest ratchet you can and it’s cake. And the first time you do it get someone to help pull the bumper off. It’s not heavy but bulky, easier with 2 ppl, but possible with one. And easier to get it back on with 2 ppl. After pulling it off once it becomes very simple.

Took advantage of the early morning, and for the first time since I got out of the hospital in August, hand washed the car, did a bit of a detail, and felt pretty good about it.

The pic was inspired by a 996tt owner who was awoken by his dog, early one morning in the mid west, and got a beautiful shot of his turbo looking towards the event horizon.

Then, I realized that I had left my Zunsport grills at home, maybe next week... but at least the car is clean. Finally.

Replaced the PZeroes with PS4S a few weeks ago.

Picked up a nail today, on what was likely the last time I’ll take the car out for a few weeks (snow in the forecast tomorrow).

Ugh

Oh, I do like those wheels - and you shall like the PS4s, after the snow abates in the spring...

That sucks... looks too close to the sidewall to even think about patching. I guess the (minor) silver lining is that they are new enough to just replace the one and not worry about tread wear difference left to right...
