Default Roll Cage Color !?

Hi guys,

In order to continue using the car for private track rentals, NHRA demands a 4 point Roll Cage in my Turbo S. My car is White with red interiors. What color do you think looks the best on the roll cage with this color combination?

Are you running quicker than a 10.0 or more than 135mph ? If not, the official is using the old rule book !

If you are, you will need a 4 point roll bar bolted in plus a swing out door bar with the 5th point bolted to the floor at your left foot.

Good luck !

I don't think any off the shelf roll bars are NHRA spec. From my understanding, NHRA requires fully welded 5 or 6 point roll cages, none of the main bars can be assembled with bolts. Maybe the track official might turn a blind eye as long as he sees some kind of roll bar?

Yes, the car ran on a test run 9.51 at 145mph. Here in PR, they accept a 4 point roll cage. So I’m going to do a bolt-on one but don’t decide on which color to chose.

They are legal with bolts to the floor pan with plates and bolts in the swing out door bar. But you are Correct, the internal bars (that most kits have bolts in) are not technically legal. Most officials do turn their head though. This is just for the “roll bar” definition. A roll cage is totally different. I have an 8.50 cage in one street car and it is totally tigged moly with 10 points. And a halo. Ran a 6.50 FC cage in another street car for a while, but it was a true PITA to access.

Insane F A S T. That would require a 8.50 true cage at my tracks. Color wise I would match either the rims, exterior paint or interior leather. Go moly to keep the weight down.

Me too. White is beautiful but annoying in your rear view mirror (not that you use it in a Turbo S of course )
