Frayed, I don't recommend driving all the way to Berkeley just to go to Kirala. If you are in Berkeley then yes try it, otherwise lots of great places in the CITY like Mike listed out. Have fun Frayed.

Sevin hills on Hyde street in the Russian hill/*** hill area is a local spot with a twist on modern creations in Italian food faire. Absolute nitemare to park over there though. Moderately priced. Mike

THanks all for the recommendations. Mooty as always you make me LOL. I will have two dinners w/o the group just wife and both benu and coi look solid. Budgeted one mortgage payment to blow on food so gonna let it roll.
eurotom, if i mention 'eurotom' can I get through the line any faster?
Edit: haven't made reservations anywhere so I may be screwed. While Gary Denko looks badass and less exp than Benu and Coi, none of those 3 are suitable for kids. So, if to pick only two for nice dinners out with the wife, which? Also, wife and I tend to like the gastropub scene. Great bar, great food, lots of variety but a festive scene. Suggestions?
EDIT: just booked Saison for Friday. Will see about Gary Danko for the other night. Thanks all, again.

Thanks for all the recommendations for restaurants! Will be in San Francisco Friday also after the LA Auto show - have to go see the car. Agree on Sebo. One of my favorite places. I used to go to San Francisco quite often but not in the last few years.

and after that interlude in fine dining...
curious rumour over on Pistonheads....namely that there will be no 991.2 version of the GT3....
plus on RS spec : "515Bhp no rear wheel steer and a faster PDK box. Plus the usual exhaust ect, turbo body with 993 GT2 style arches"
and some HRE prognostication (props to redback911 on PH):
