This spot-website claims this is the new 991 GT3 RS, but why the rear side intake scoops?

that is just a weird mish-mosh of parts. Turbo width fenders, but gt3 rear air-exhausts in bumper. Mellow-looking spoiler but turbo fender air-intakes. maybe it's a gt2?... traditionally turbo models have those big fender air-intakes... gt cars don't

The video I posted a link to in the other GT3RS thread looks the same as this car (and with number plates in the same sequence). GT2s typically do not have center exhaust, and the one in the video sounded like a GT3. And only the GT2RS had front fender flares previously - IF that car happens (debatable with the 960 on the horizon), it won't be for a while - timeline suggests the GT3RS is the next GT car to debut, so it makes sense that it is what we are seeing. Not sure what the side intakes are about - could be fake.

But then it doesn't have the air intake on the rear deck. So it will be interesting to see if the final RS also gives up the rear deck intake for ones on the side. The black prototype has it, but then I am guessing it is just using the GT3 deck. Could be one more differentiation from the GT3 to justify the rumored 50k difference.

Hope they stick to the rear deck intake, as I never really liked the intakes on the rear fenders...
On the other hand if needed to cool rear brakes then so be it.
Agree with you guys that I also would love to see more pronounced wheel arches.
Front fenders on 4.0 were done a lot better than on the 997.2 RS.

Rear Fender Intakes are required on the Turbos for the Intercoolers to reduce temperature of Compressed Intake Air, but can also be used for both Rear Brake cooling and Transmission radiator cooling on non-Turbocharged cars.
