That's funny, my car was supposed to be here in the fall (late Sept.) anyways, lol.

What my dealer received:

U.S. spec MY2018 911 GT3 production will be delayed until mid-September. No U.S. GT3’s will be shipped out of the
factory until September.

Dealers will see two different types of delays in PVMS.

Vehicle production dates in PVMS will be pushed back. These new completion dates should be an accurate estimation of the revised production date.
Vehicles may enter production in the system, but will not complete production (CP8) until mid-September

I think they overestimated their production capabilities. Heard Dealers crying for more 911s.

I guess a good problem to have

I was lucky enough to take the factory tour at Porsche today. I saw what must have been tens of .2 GT3s between the production line, completed inventory, and work in progress.

The cars are being manufactured for now, regardless of where they are going. They also had to stop the tour at one point to let a prototype in production through...

I have to say it was quite an amazing experience. The tour is magical.

Probably delaying production so that all they have the opportunity to roll out the Touring Package to the US market before everyone's orders lock!

Could this have anything to do with manual transmission cars?

Those cars were slated for fall delivery.

I thought this was the plan all along? I think most people that I talked to who are expecting a GT3 expected their's in December or so.

Mine locks 9/13. Builds 10/14 and it's one of the very first at my dealership.

My manual build was scheduled early September with ED early October. Just notified that plans may sadly be changed.

Don't think it's new - I was told they wouldn't even give me final CXX pricing until mid-June at the earliest. This was when they ok'd the request about a month ago.

MY build date was July 21st. If I read the bulletin correctly, they seem to say that a car can start production before September but cannot be completed until mid September. I realize the factory goes on vacation in August but would they start a car and leave it until they return?

Also, why US cars?

Another reason why I'm never bummed not to get a first round allocation.
