Never seen the Mooty Cave so empty. Must be capitalizing on the shortage of rental cars. 😉

think I may be picking up a Cup Car soon!

depends on how much climbing u do
how heavy u are
and how young.

venge is very stiff

true. that’s why I want a Datsun 510 or something like a Toyota HiAce VIP style van. If prices hadn’t gone nuts, a VW Transporter with the crew cab would have be nice too.

Have Di2 on older Tarmac. Good stuff but I like SRAM better. Battery is much simpler to deal with - one battery that can go from rear or front derailleur on road bike to rear derailleur on mountain bike to dropper post. And if your rear shifter dies on road bike just swap battery for front derailleur to rear and you're good to go. Oh, and you can easily carry a spare battery in your jersey or tool kit.

Talk about mayhem!
Danes not quite as quick once they had to take off off their non-sanctioned shin “medical” tape and aero vests…. Might have been hurting a bit from ramming too, lol.

stream of unconsciousness

Engine: rev faster, pulls smoother especially past 7500 rpm. But the 7RS4.0 roughness/rawness of the mezger was more emotionally engaging. I do not know the redline, but I can assure you that the rev limiter works….

Shifter: very short strokes, smooth with a touch of rubbery feel at the end of the stroke. Hard to explain, but drive a 997 then you see difference. Shifting a 997 gear box involves profanity while shifting a 991 box evokes doubt on if you are at the end of the stroke.

Pedals:
Clutch: very soft, easy on the leg especially in traffic.
Brake: seems more assisted then 997 but after few applications, it becomes intuitive
Throttle: soft and linear. Easy to heel and toe (I use HEEL and TOE, not rolling the foot. If you roll, then the throttle may be a tad higher than you would like)

Sport button: once engaged, it will H&T for you. It does it perfectly. I tried to mess it up and confuse the computer, but it cannot be faltered. So those who can’t HNT, hallelujah…. You met Jesus (my Latin American friend, not God). For those who can HNT, this is mildly annoying….. b/c suddenly you think you have perfected the craft, only to see that the SPORT button is on… so much for being the next Senna.

Steering: quick, low effort, precise and predictable; albeit slightly less communicative than 7RS4.0

Suspension: many like stiff suspension… I prefer soft, the softer the better (provided it still does the work)… I was in soft mode and it was too stiff for the “test loop”. It literally bounces off the pavement then moves laterally to scare you. I don’t have spec numbers, but spring “felt” stiffer than 7RS4.0 and didn’t absorb bumps as well.

Vs. 991 touring: for pure driving fun, R > touring. For pure bank account, touring > R… but if you want the best, the just get the R so u can stop wondering.

Sound: less deadening than 991 touring. exhaust sounded good (stock), not too loud, this is not a civic R with coffee can and holes punched on the can (that works too. I know, I have it on my Civic R). but the mechanical sound reverberating due to lesser sound deadening is wonderful. It will keep your annoying GF out the car so u can have peace.

RWS: the tighter the turn, the better car feels, it wont push like all the 911’s that came before it. On big radius turns, RWS isn’t as impressive and if I breathed too much on throttle, rear would want to step out a tad
