Clicking on other threads in this forum has become a sort of insanity. You think the title is leading you to meaningful content, then you click and it's just another value thread in disguise. Why do i keep doing it.

talk crap
then go cycling
wash cars
rinse
repeat
TTX = $20k for good feels

speaking of value, have the 997.2 GT3 in for 48k mile service now.
service mgr mentioned that RMS is seeping a bit.
had a new one put in when i got the car about 25k miles ago.
need to decide what all i want to do as part of 50k birthday for the car:
color correction -- want to make the car pretty again / polishing a turd
PPF / Ceramic coat -- since it's 1 of 14 aqua blue GT3s, feel like i should preserve it
clutch -- don't think i want to go LWFW due to cam bolt concern, so maybe just replace
Guards diff -- car is really just used on the street so not sure if any benefit for me
other stuff -- deviated stitching, neon light kit, air bag suspension, ...

dont bother with the RMS until it needs a clutch
Treat it for an aggressive 1000 mile road trip :-)

yea, no issue with the clutch at this time, so not something that has to be done right now.
i did the pipe pinning & water pump when i got the car too, so all good there too.
just trying to figure out how to sink more money into my depreciating asset.

need to finish cleaning the CGT then I can move on to drive the next victim.

Done with day three of my road trip!
Day one was an uneventful drive down from San Francisco to Pasadena, but Route 25 was a bunch of fun. Unfortunately day two was a little bit of a wash since Angeles Crest is closed for maintenance on the eastern side, and we didn't realize it until arrival (shoulda checked Caltrans, instead of Google Maps!). We did make it to Lockwood Valley Road and Route 33 though.
Here's a pic from yesterday's jaunt down Route 33 to Ojai:
And here's one from today, along Highway 1 around Big Sur:
I don't usually stop for many pictures, but my co-pilot has a fancy camera he's been itching to use to get some nice shots
@Spyerx: I saw a Rhodium Silver 981 Spyder on the PCH today! Wondered if it might be your old one...

Three Wheelin'
Hello Mooty,
Hope you are fully recovered now. Yesterday it was gorgeous here in Illinois, high of 70 and sunny. Took out my "First Five" and took them out for a spin coming out of storage. You ask for names of my trio (trinity), I figure I will share the names of my "First Five."
Today I will ride my Stumpjumper FSR pro, no carbon footprint.
Left to right:
1.) GT2RS - Charlie - For Champion as it is the current Nurburgring record holder.
2.) GT3RS - Yellowjacket - A stinger for a naturally aspirated 911.
3.) 918 Spyder - Sharky - Sexiest car and shape like a shark of all my Porsches.
4.) Turbo S Exclusive Series - Goldie as in Goldie Hawn, Golden Yellow Metallic
5.) 911R - Excel - It is my favorite of them all. Not the fastest, not the most expensive but It checks all the boxes I want in a car.
Drive safe,
GT3RS-Fan1

I am not religious.
but that's holy trinity
but you have 918 and soon (if not already) CGT...
not sure god's family had 5 ppl....
we need a name for the trio...
I am not sure I am recovered. but riding with a big splint on my hand and a whole roll of microfiber towel wrapped on the bar certainly calls a lot of attention... ha
if you like the thread, the 2nd week of April will have quite a bit more posts ;-)
