For the 2018 GT3, German engineers adapted the 4.0-liter flat-six of the 911 GT3 Cup racecar, mixing the 400 hp output of the GT3 RS with the 9,000 rpm redline of the superseded 991.1 GT3.
The new GT3 RS is expected to deliver around 425 hp, with rumors dating back to April last year seeing the new boxer mill having its displacement increased to 4.2 liters.

Waxer - you will be OK. They are reducing the HP to get better gas mileage.

No inside track here but logical to amortize 6spd manual cost over multiple models. Remember, Porsche is all about margins.

GT3RS!!
I didn't think they would try to stay NA lagging (Or no lag?) behind competitors with 600HP sedans now not being exceptional and the gigantic step to the GT2.
You know what the best GT3 is? The next one....
Is it me or the front fenders are a bit wider?
Maybe the nose is from a GT3, the whole combo looks ugly with the new nose with wider fenders, looks a bit undercooked, with that high splitter and pointy nose..
I guess they will just roll the fenders a bit more.
I wonder what the openings in the hood could possible be fore, anyone any idea's?
4.2L would make a big difference, the rest is just fine tuning, diffuser, splitter, tires, RWS, PDK etc I would think.
AP, I did shut up and drive!
Hurry up, I only have 30K warranties miles left....

German news site assumes: 4.0, 525 HP, manual as an option, presentation Q1/18.
I heard from a cleaning lady that MT as an option is truly in discussion at Porsche HQ
