As an owner of an RS, I would love to believe it would be limited, but I was told by a Porsche representative to be patient way back in late 07 when it looked impossible to get a car from a dealer.
I could not be that patient and I bought my car not long after. In spite of the heavy financial hit, I love my car and I want them to keep making new cool cars.

It looks like it has wider front fenders, or it may just be the way the pic is taken. If they keep that wing, I may have to trade up, I've always wanted a baby cup car for the road and this is as close visually as any factory Porsche, bar the 993 GT2.

This angle shows the "wide" treatment. Pretty impressive if that do that in the metal and not just plastic stick-on bits.
Surely not an '09 or even necessarily a '10 model year, but once we start to see these non-fuzzy, non-blurry pics, it's usually only six months' or so lead time to the real deal, so the expectation of Frankfurt in September seems plausible.
I hate to think of the price, but with the 4.0 engine, PDK and PCCBs, surely it's getting close to the $200K mark and we saw how well that worked for he GT2 ... : |
ps. As ever, this could easily be a test mule for an aftermarket company. I recall someone here having a handle on the sequence of the registration plates that Porsche uses on their test fleet.

I don't think a tuner would cover up the Porsche badge, it has to be a factory test mule. The wide front fenders with the wide back reminds me of the 993 Turbo shape. Anyone know what helmet Walter wears? It looks like his face in the pic, but it's hard to tell.

I am pretty sure the "BB" plates are in fact the Porsche AG registration plates . . . . First letters represent the town of registration (here, Boeblingen I believe, which is a suburb of Stuttgart). So, this looks real. Car looks sweet.

Interesting visual clues that this "RS" goes a step beyond the last one in terms of subtle distinguishing characteristics compared to the "normal" GT3.

Anyway, if you look closely, this car is miles away from the 997.1 RS.
