Rear seats would probably at least 100 pounds, if not closer to 150.

That's noticeable in my book. Especially when people complain that the FAL adds too much weight (and it's only about 15 pounds).

Rear seats, rear belts & rear wiper was 14,6 kg in my old 996 turbo.

Just the rear seats alone in the 997 TT was about 9 kg each.

From what I understand, each iteration of the rear seat has gotten heavier for some reason.

I agree, but honestly, more people would be able to enjoy a GT3. People would be driving them more often and putting more miles on their GT3's and fewer garage queens. Actually, on second thought, maybe, just maybe, it would make a GT3 to be more GT3 than recent GT3's. Afterall, isn't the true purpose of a GT3, to be driven and enjoyed? If to be strictly a track car, Cup car should be the choice
Well at nearly 200k, I bet Porsche would be in bliss if they sold as many GT3's as they currently sell Carreras(S)
Just curious how you got to the 100-150lb figure? The rear seatbacks and seat bottoms weigh a combined 20-30 lbs at most, then add in the 10ish lbs of seatbelts and extra anchoring and we're still only up to 30-40 lbs. which on a 500 hp car, I don't see it being too significant even to the most astute drivers. Maybe I'm missing some other ancillaries that would add further weight, but I don't think so. The reason that I think Porsche will not offer them is because of the added amount of GT3's that Porsche would be required to crash test in order to get them permitted to be sold in the US. Essentially the same reason that the 959 was not available in the US when new.

Its a moot point isn't it considering that most people, at least in Europe, get the scaffolding in the back which weighs more than the rear seat assembly.

While I hear what you're saying (I honestly do), Porsche already makes plenty of iterations for those joy rides.
Why take such a hard car and make it soft..?

I don't think the weight will be that big an issue. Anyway, if you're ticking the box on the Touring Package, weight savings isn't necessarily on your mind or your priority; enjoying the added company is (while in the presence of a 500hp NA MT )

991.1 GT3 and RS were both soft. 991.2 GT3 is coming standard with sat radio, nav, backup camera etc and you can add Bose. Porsche is 99% of the way there.

Performance delta is going to be much larger going from Steels to PCCB than going from no back seat to adding a back seat.

It should be an option, I don't know what the price should be. In Porsche dollars I'd guess $2k. To the "soft" comments, I don't think it would change a thing, just more people able to justify a GT3. GT3RS is the new pure track car, and even it's "soft" in certain ways but also completely awesome when compared to past cars.
