Most dealers in SoCal are the same. I visited Rusnak in Pasadena to look at some colors. They told me they charge 50k over and have 20 people lined up.

I take it that was local to you? LA is seems to be it's own submarket with limited edition cars. When I was looking for a GT350R last summer I spoke to Galpin and they wouldn't budge on 50k over for an R code or 20k over for a standard car.

The next day I called the largest Ford dealer in New Mexico and they said they already had a standing 30k over offer from Galpin for all three of their R allocations. To their credit they offered to eat 10k and sell me one for 20k over because they wanted the cars to stay in state.

But not 20 people that will pay $50k over. Basically they start offering at $50k now...some cars will show up on the lot unsold and eventually someone might bite. If there are cars still unsold, eventually premium drops. It's a shame...

There are people on this board getting MSRP dealers at SoCal dealers, but are repeat customers. Not easy to come by but possible.

Claims "the rest of the dealers" are also asking $50k over at this time.
How very sad, what a joke.

It's amazing how ecstatic we're getting just to be able to purchase a car. Porsche certainly knows what they're doing.

If the guy was intimating that they have 20 people lined up ready to pay $50k over, he's full of shiiite and you should have told him that.

Agree. These salespeople need to know we're not all gullible sheep ready to be bent over.

I used to do that when I was young, stick it to them. Not any more, lol. I told them I am getting mine at MSRP, and they wish to have my business.

I recall a situation at an Acura (Honda ROW) dealer in December 1990. The dealer had a new NSX on the floor for $20k over MSRP, which many dealers had been extracting out of all their customers. Keep in mind that way back then even Honda dealers routinely charged over MSRP for Accords.

Well, the NSX sat there for many months into 1991. This period was during time frame of the Gulf War. The car was eventually sold to an 18 year old from Indonesia (who was studying in the US) for cash at I think at least a $5k discount off MSRP. Two sales guys had to split the total commission of $130. I don't recall seeing another NSX there for quite a while.

Correct, that is my dealer for what it is worth.
sorry to be slow in reply. I don't know if anyone else has this problem but I can read Rennlist on my iPhone and my iPad apps but I can't type a response with out the app crashing so I have to wait till I have time to respond on my laptop.

Haven't talked to my dealer this week so I don't know what their allocations ended up being. I would be happy to take delivery late 2018 in any event

Yea just friendly reminder to really stay on your contact because Porsche is not keen on moving allocations from one month to another easily, and others may not want to switch October allocations with you. If you're on the early September build or if Porsche have delays, they could come back and say sorry things changed and its out of their hands for manual (which it is out of their hands). Safe bet is to confirm this with them (they know), and maybe just take an October build instead right now.

Exactly, 918 VIP program allocations and VVIP allocations follow the owners. Owners can request to move allocations to a different dealer if they wish. So when a dealer tells you they have 8 allocations and all 8 are going to 918 customers, either they are messing with you to tell you why they can't give you one or they got zero dealer pool allocation (which is unlikely for a dealer like that).

Unreal.- If my Dealer asked me to pay over(which they are not) I would drive down the street and buy a McLarnen 570S and visit them every other weekend in it. Just plain highway robbery. I am glad to have my GT4 for another year before I trade and I will tell you- this car is great. I like it better than me 991 GT3 - because Manual and a damn pretty machine. - Sure give up some power but my car is all modded up and fun as heck. Is the .2GT3 worth $75,000 more in the end??- now freakin way. Sure- I want the .2 GT3 for that motor and i am an idiot and that is why I blog with all of you. We all have a sickness

Got my sheet with v200. Manual option is still not available in the system as mentioned, but can be changed/added later.

The sheet also showed a gas guzzler tax of $1000 if anyone was wondering.

I know for a fact that 918 owners contact PCNA to let them know that they want a GT3 and let them know which dealer to have it delivered to. They can also get a PTS car as well if they want. Ahhh, the power of being a non-mortal.

Oh thank goodness, I was worried for a second that Auto Gallery would get all the allocations.
