GT3 Dealer Allocation Thread

No one is going to pay 70K over for an RS, when the .2 GT3 has just been announced with an engine with the same power, that is now motorsport derived , and a manual option.
I hope all these dealers get screwed and have to sell their RSs at MSRP, when they could of had a buyer at 20K over months ago if they weren't so greedy.

agree completely. The dealers are greedy, particularly in CA.

Yes totally agree....I'm starting to get in the market possibly for a GT3 or RS...but I am not paying over sticker for a used GT3 or over sticker for a new one either. I love Porsches but there are other cars out there too that can put a smile on my face....totally ridiculous stuff with these over greedy dealers.
Used GT3 now asking for around $200,000 ($170,000 MSRP). RS is asking for $320,000 ($220,000 MSRP).
I have been checking regularly lately, not a single one got sold.

But I don't get why dealers are still sitting on these cars with super high asking prices for this long. They've sat long enough to confirm that there are no buyers at these asking prices, and the market value of them is not going up anytime soon. I would think they would slowly decrease the premium until the car actually sells. Maybe it is purely the marketing value of having them on the floor, lest the market confuse a Porsche showroom with a GMC SUV showroom.

Michael Corleone at his local stealership: "My offer is this. Nothing. Not even the MSRP which I would appreciate if you would put up personally."

But the problem is, it's costing them very little due to the same ridiculously cheap money that's fueled this whole bubble in the first place. For many dealers, I'll bet the marketing value of having one on the floor outweighs the carry on flooring the car.

Agree completely, since there is so much free money out there at next to nothing interest there will be buyers. It is easy to get a personal note up to a $100K for 5% interest.

But better to sell today and cut your losses. They might have traded these cars for Msrp + $30k. Trying to sell for msrp +$50-70k
Soon they will have to sell at MSRP. That's a pretty bad deal even for a large dealership.
There are still buyers for almost new RS at msrp or just over.

They're chained to the floor at those prices. Fact is, the RS market in Canada has been weak for 9 months.

Also you have to consider that some of these dealers purchased these RSs at over MSRP from customers or new RSs from other dealerships at over MSRP, so if they are too greedy looking for the big score and eventually have to settle for selling these RS at MRSP, they may actually lose money.
(which I think would be great and hopefully teach the greedy bastards a lesson)
