Well I guess that's the benefit of picking the hooker...

Are allocations biased towards body image?

Man, what happened to this thread. Started off with the .2GT3 and ended up on obesity and diet options HAHA.
So, back to allocations....I was trying to put together the latest info the group has. For the U.S., the next set of allocations will be announced in September? And how many announcements are people expecting after that? I'm also curious how much the upcoming .2GT3 RS will affect demand and production.

I placed a deposit on a 991.2 GT3 with a manual transmission in September 2015. Back then, i could only hope that Porsche would make a manual transmission GT3 again. I placed the deposit at a newer Porsche dealership that serviced my other cars. As a newer dealership, it was not a top selling dealer, and everyone told me that being #1 on the list meant nothing as the dealer wouldn't even get an allocation.

Fast forward to 2017 and this dealer did get an allocation and i did submit by build (freeze date of 11/8 and build date of 2/1/2018). They are also hoping for a 2nd allocation of the 991.2 GT3.

I am paying MSRP. No markup. They also encouraged me to place my build during the PTS window, even if it delayed production. PTS window is estimated to start 9/17.

So, I would encourage people to place deposits in advance of model runs. It will be worth the wait. I just could not justify buying a 997.2 GT3 track rat with no CPO and questionable ownership and maintenance history for nearly the price of a new 4liter GT3 with a manual trans.

Also, with the latest RSR being mid-engined and hybrid tech all the rage, its quite possible that the 991.2 GT3 may be the last of its kind with a manual trans option. So, for me, i had to get in now.

If i was ok with paddles, then i would be looking at other cars.
Congrats and enjoy. Your foresight us being rewarded.

I would not bet NA Manual GT3s are done. I think Porsche can continue to cater to the enthusiast. They realize that the minute they go FI they start losing their competitive advantage on these specialty cars

As a lesson recently learned from the R- any one buying this car because they think it will appreciate will be disappointed. It may depreciate at a slow pace but that will be best case scenario unless "luck" is on your side

I spoke to my dealer Friday and was told that no decision has been made by Porsche on paint to sample for U.S. customers and that the window will be after November 2017. So if you're getting one of the early cars, it will not be PTS.
