Hi Guys,
Greetings from Australia. I got an allocation for 991.2 GT3 after placing a deposit in march Last year. I have 991.1 Carrera s in white and a jet black Cayanne GTS. This will be my first GT car order. Thought ordering the car will be easier this time as not so many options to choose from. I spent months ordering the carrera s but doing it this time is a big challenge for me. Seats are doing my head in.
Torn between comfort of the 18 way seats and the amazing look of Bucket seats. I really like the red stripes on the bucket seats.
So if i decide to let go of the 18 way seats, which buckets are better ? Sport buckets with folding back or 918 fixed buckets with height adjustment. I use the Cayenne a lot but still want to feel comfortable driving the GT3. My other dilemma is The roll cage. I like driving but not tracking the car.
I am drawn in a way to the looks of the cage but still not sure.
My apologies if this has been discussed already, would appreciate your thoughts with those options on the new GT3. Current or previous Gt car owners with bucket seats and roll cage, any input would be greatly appreciated. Is getting in and out of the car going to be a hassle? or is it something you get used to?

If this is just a weekend toy then I say give the LWBS a go. If not, then you may want to consider the impracticality of getting out of the car where you need the door almost wide open.
I find the 18 way seats hug you in well, and unless you intend on tracking your car, the buckets will be a pain in the bottom. Even on track, I have had no issues with 18 ways, until you start taking things more seriously of cos.....which doesn't sound like will be your circumstance.
Roll cage even if you don't track the car, in the event the car rolls it would be an added safety feature to protect the occupants. If you have no need to use the space at back, then go for it, otherwise practical should take precedent over how it looks given you already hinted you have no real need for it.
Good luck with your decision.

Can you adjust the side bolsters with the 18 way sofas ? Just wanted to know to see if it's worth spending 2600 bucks for 18 way sofas

Excellent response to the seat question. I have the same issue particularly about getting out of the LWBS. I have two car garage which isn't very wide. I doubt I will be able to open the door fully to get out of the seats. I need to measure how wide the door must be for me to exit the car.
I will say this. Once in the seats they are comfortable.

I was just on track using 18-ways. Absolutely no problem. Never even thought about it. And the wife likes them (aka she never complains about long drives). Great seats.

LWB require a small towel or lumbar support to be inserted underneath the back cushion cover in order to be perfect IMO. Gettingnin and out takes practice but reminds me of technique required to get into a race car with cage.. kind of lift yourself in with upper body.. I wouldn't have a gt car without them

While we are discussing $2000+ headlight option discrepancies, Porsche is laughing all the way to the bank.

Not to get too off topic ...
Yeah, has been the case for many years. Good interview with PCNA's Zellmer in that video though.
Porsche being the most profitable car company is a title they've had for quite a long time. Nothing new. They are in business to make money like anyone else.
BMW makes almost 2,000,000 cars worldwide a year, Mercedes around 1,900,000, Audi around 1,800,00, Porsche like 238,000, and Ferrari 8,000
By comparison:
Interesting points:
3 out of every 1,000 vehicles sold in USA is a Porsche.
USA Porsche sales approx 55,000 out of 238,000 world wide. China is 65,000! It's number one market starting in 2015 and continued in 2016.
Europe seeing a plateau.
China is their number one market with the most upside potential.
