Other than hiding the payout amount who does an NDA protect at this point?
If the shop owner had purchased the car outright immediately after the incident an NDA may have saved his business.
I'll say again that we have no proof that this is an isolated incident. This may not be the first time this shop caused obvious and visible or non-obvious latent damage to a customers vehicle.
This shop does not deserve to be in business.

Waiting.....insurance is dragging. Two layers have suggested total, third layer above is in drag mode. The good news is the word total is being bandied about. Bad news is how long it takes to determine than what the fight is for value. Oh and the nuclear option of suing everyone.

Everyone at work knows I'm the Porsche guy, so after 5 people asked the other day if I had heard this story, I had to go back and start at page 1. I just now got caught up - wow.
Ccapx - I hope I've learned from you how to be a more patient person in life; you've really taken this in stride. I don't even let certain people sit in my LWBS, let alone drive my car. Kudos to you sir. I really hope things work out in the best possible way for you.

It might be worth spending a grand or so on legal now to threaten the nuclear option in a strongly worded letter to all parties with a firm deadline on making you whole. If it speeds resolution timing up it'd be worth it to me. Good luck man, you've been a saint through all this, might be time to warm up the chairs of the bickering suits.
