Same. I'm trying so hard to like the 570S in case I can't get a GT3 allocation, but I'm not there yet. Still haven't warmed up to the looks enough, except in black, and I just don't know if I want another black car. Once over that, I've gotta figure out if I can live with some turbo lag and the brake issues every review mentions. But I'm getting more interested in McLaren by the day it seems. If I can't get a GT3, my next choice will likely be either a Turbo S or a 570S.

I got an invite to the 720 showing in NYC yesterday, but had to work. Anyway, a friend of mine who went said the car was a game changer and blows away the 488 and huracan. Gave it a 10/10.

Go to Exotics Racing in Las Vegas and do 7-10 laps in a 570s. You will quickly know if you love it or not.

I hope they've learned their lesson in their continued quest for relevance and credibility beyond the stereotypical Lambo owner (ie, freelance pharmaceutical salesman from New Jersey or Miami with frosted tips, shmedium bedazzled Affliction T-shirt, Audemars Piguet ROO, etc.)

Have you seen it in the flesh? A lot of Maclife forum members got quite switched off when that fisheye photo came out. Then they started to attend the unveiling sessions and very quickly changed their minds. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder for certain but be sure to see it up close and personal before cementing your view.

While the 570S has some lag, with a lighting quick 7sp transmission, I found that I'm always in the power band. During my hour long test drive through a range of technical back roads and faster stretches, I was never below 3k rpm when it mattered.
I don't know about McLaren's long term ownership prospects (I'm still learning from owners), but based on the way the car drives and its price point, the 570 is an achievement.

Anyone know the price of the 720?

Will it be north of $400,000?

See CJ posts in this thread for guidance.

Separately, I have been told base MSRP of $288K by two different sources who don't know each other. One of them was at the private dog and pony show in NYC yesterday.

If that's true, consider it a bargain since you could pay double that for a slower Ford GT.

$288? So this would slot in under the 650/675? I thought those were in the mid $300s.

720 will start at under $300...but just like super cars of that type, they seldom are specced to the minimum. I'm sure there will be a lot of CF bits and special MSO paint to add on. Me, I'll pick up a plain Jane white with minimal options when they are ready to announce the spyder version in a year.

I didn't ask price, the first batch will pre configured launch editions and not sure what they will cost. Too many other items I was focused on, sorry.

This is the replacement for the 650, so coupe base will be a little under $300K.

The first cars are special numbered launch cars.
