More power than current 991 GT3RS & 911R with the option of the same box that is in either of those cars...I have no doubt you are right but the 991R & RS arent going to get a very long run at being the fastest around the Ring or the most "involving" to drive for very long are they?

Reading Ring times, I don't think a 4.0L 991.2 GT3 even with 510 horsepower is likely to beat the Ring time of the 991.1 RS.
Even if it gets 10 extra horses, I expect the torque of a NA 4.0L 991.2 GT3 would be the same as the 991.1 RS.
And advantages the .1RS would still have over the .2 GT3 for a faster Ring time would likely still include less weight, wider track, bigger tires, and 3x the downforce.

Sure the new tires will eventually be made in the RS's sizes too and be retrofittable, but may allow a Laptime competitive with the RS's when it was released (or possibly slightly better). The current GT3 is only 5 sec slower than RS (according to Porsche), right?

And playing the devil's advocate, the 991.2 GT3 would have the advantages of improved suspension, a new generation of faster tires (Cup3??), and less aero drag (very helpful on some sections of the Ring)...

Active aero should be next.

Wonder what the base price bump will be? $10k, $15k. The 991 GT3 base was higher the the 997.2 RS.

Active aero would be nice. If its true and the 991.2 gt3 is 510 hp, I bet the 991.2 RS will be around 540hp. I think the 4.0 engine has room to increase power.
