Are you sure they're not made of Anacott Steel?

I too like to save weight! I did a similar project on a BMW S1000RR - dropped 55 lbs from a 455 lb bike. And, man, was it expensive! Great project! Sorry if I missed it but what’s your target weight after completion?

My more humble .2 3RS weight project is as follows:

Base 3153 - I assume this published weight is lightest possible spec so i’ll add back in:

Non-WP plus 12 pounds
No AC delete plus 20lbs
Bose Stereo plus 20
LED’s plus 15
Passport Max 360ci plus 32lbs
Gun, mags, flashlight, knife, med kit, towel - plus 10

Now subtract -
Antigravity minus 30
Dundon power pack minus 45
BBS Mags minus 28
1 gallon washer fluid plus owners manual delete minus 10

I figure that will put me at 3150 with a full tank and all my gear. Can anyone comment, do my weights sound about right?

AC weighs more than Bose.

Passport 32lbs?? Seems high.

Gun weight will depend on model and how many rounds you're packing.

Reality is that less than 100 pounds saving will have little or no effect (other than perhaps psychological) and 150 - 200 pounds should, depending upon, e.g., driver, road surface, speed, create a difference.

Have been doing a very rough weight reduction calculation and it is clearly in excess of 200 pounds.
