Additionally, for racing, if one was willing to sacrifice durability, it could be made a bit lighter.

Hello Bob

It has been years since we have spoken. I can not believe that I have not discovered this thread on RL about weight reduction.
All the best

Rodger

Bob,

This thread is a good reminder that I'm an idiot... I feel proud when I change my oil...

Keep sharing these pieces!

Truth is that I wouldn't trust myself to change oil.

It would be great to have list of parts, weight saved, cost per part and cost per lb saved. Some people would want to get the most value ie lowest cost weight savings in the right areas of the car and other will want to reduce weight at any cost. For example the lithium battery is probably the lowest cost per lb saved option so easy. PCCP's might be the most impactful and so on but there might be several items I would buy in an effort to further lighten the car but I'm not trying to win races so not going to throw any amount of cash at the weight problem. For you guys who say just hit a treadmill, I already do and that isn't the answer.

Can anyone comment on best exhaust option (with cats and valves) for weight (amount saved?) while maintaining character of engine sound? Thank you

Oil Tank Installed. RPT calipers tested for fit. Hope to have real calipers in a month. Next come front and rear drop links, carbon fiber air filter box, carbon fiber induction plenum and then, if possible, carbon fiber gear box.

Carbon fiber gear box? Wow...I love where you're going with this Robert. What about doing bumper beams out of carbon?

Robert, curious if you heard of this firm and it's "super" magnesium alloy?
