If your waiting for a non WP PTS GT2RS, and are under the impression your color is open for change I recommend you contact PCNA and check your status. Myself and a fellow RL’er both with Nov builds found out recently that our cars have locked even though the computer reads changeable. The paint has already been ordered on both of our cars and no color change is possible now. I don’t fault them, but was told by Porsche Exclusive LA that it would be later in the summer before my car locked but alas. Anyway you should look into your build if your still debating because as we all know there have been many PTS issues this year. When and if you call I would get to the right person because the computer can be wrong and our inquiries were answered by PAG directly via Daniel Margrave at Porsche exclusive who was prompt and helpful. Hope this is informative and good luck men!

Only with a special Cup2 'R' apparently that was 2 seconds faster than the regular N2 Cup2. The 2rs is clearly a bloody quick car but that new tyre (the same as used in SportAuto at Hockenheim last year) is completely distoring the mag test results imo. one almost wonders was the 6:47 at the 'ring on this Cup R or the N2 tyre....
seems like these tyres cost $4000 a set on other cars, so will be interesting to see what Porsche charges when they are available. Can't say I'm going to buy a set just to go a bit quicker for a few laps on a track day, especially if lifespan is short.
I think it means that a lot of 2RS customers (if they track the car on standard rubber) will be trying to explain why they're not going much faster given it's a '6.47' car....
still a mega car though, and just copying things like the ACR, Performante and AMG GtR which have used same kind of tyre boost for the last bit of performance, IMO.

For the Ring record GT2RS, everything is bone stock.
The only difference is that the crank the wing down to maximum downforce by using the most aggressive holes on the mount.
The tires are bone stock retail Cup 2 N2s. BUT, they handpicked the 4 best ones from the batch.
It wasn't running on the AMG/Corvette compound ones.

You'll know more than me, but the sticky compound is now "stock" as an option purchased from Porsche, and the Sport Auto time at Hockenheim was definitely run on the new compound.
It wouldn't surprise me if 'stock' means 'sticky stock", and it seems strange to run ring time on normal and then give better rubber to Sport Auto a few weeks later?

When they did the Ring time, they can only run with what they have.
If they run the Ring again with the newer tires, the time will be faster. But sort of pointless, just like they didn't go back with the 918 with stickier tires.

For real drivers, Trofeo Rs rewards the driver, they are better an the 'edge'. But its a knife edge and not many can stay there.
For others, Cup2s will be a better choice, the edge is quite dull and many many drivers of all skill levels and stay on that 'edge' longer.

a trofeo isn't a slick tyre, the dropoff of peak lateral force isn't anything like a slick tyre either per your 'knife edge' comment. that dropoff probably is faster and sooner than a Cup2 as it has a stiffer sidewall but it's not as much as you suggesting above ime. Trofeos are a bit faster and particularly so in very warm conditions but last half the mileage of a Cup2. Nothing imo to do with 'more rewarding for real drivers'.
