Are you saying the 4.0 RSR motors are having some failures? I have not heard that anywhere. News to me especially since I have a 2018 .2 with over 15,000 miles of which most are track miles.

I know of a local PTS touring that had to get a
replacement. Which I would have been pretty pissed.
So no, there’s no worry with your .2 engine outside of the outlier “**** happens” case.

Also, the redline was reduced from the factory which is pretty telling but also protected them enough to prevent a widespread problem.

Well I guess I learned something new yesterday while my GT3 was in for a major service at my dealer.
All along I thought, based on a VMI that my Porsche Service Advisor ran before I bought my GT3 that it was still on either an E or F motor at 54K miles, but low and behold it has a G0 serial number on the actual engine, and no new sticker anywhere in the car. Existing engine sticker is that of an E series. So future buyers might want to get the car up on a lift, pull the pan and check for yourself .
I guess this is a good thing, but how did the Porsche dealership that did the replacement not update it to the system ? my understanding is that the engine replacements have a 2 yr warranty....can anyone confirm this ? Carfax also had no mention but then again, I don't recall ever seeing a GT3 Carfax report while I was shopping that had an entry for engine replacement.
Lastly, for those of you folks w/ with higher miles, mine was in for a 48K service which entailed full PDK service ( clutch oil +pdk fluid, ) oil change , spark plugs, all filters , throttle body cleaning, and drive belt replacement .
The grand total is $3215.00 !!! luckily PCA discount will lower that a tad.

2014 were E. 2015 were F. Pretty sure a G0 would have been installed more than two years ago. Regardless, by the time the 10 yr engine warranty expires, your G0 will definitely have been installed for greater than two years.

My .1 RS G0 engine broke down on track at around 30k miles. I took the car to my local dealer since the car was under warranty and to my surprise I got H6 engine. The new enigne doesn't consume oil at all compared to the previous enigne ( previously I had to add a quart evey 3 track sessions). I hope someone can shed some light on this new revision
