Note the balanced oversteer/understeer - both ARBS set to middle (see below)

Have to confirm my spec for the gen2 by the end of the week, but honestly am not feeling overly excited given how great the gen1 still is. So capable on track and on the road it drives so beautifully too. Spoke to a very fast Ring driver (sub7 guy) who was not happy with his gen2 at the Ring, as it’s too bouncy there. Said many drivers feel the same, so makes me wonder. Do much more GP tracks, so the improvement vs the gen1 will be more significant.
I'm involved in the tarmac rally scene and I found the I series prone to tram lining and losing composure at high speed - I find the II less prone to traming and more able to absorb and damp the bumps at high speed. Keep in mind tarmac event are held on roads way worse than the ring . I suspect you'll be surprised. In a good way.

Had indeed wanted to add the car tramlines severely at the straight. I have not driven it enough at the Ring to make a good comparison (mainly because before the setup it just destroyed the wheel houses), but compared to other road and race cars I have driven there, I was quite surprised about the movement on the straight. Makes up for it in the corners though, so overall I am very pleased with the set-up.

I was on the same page and pretty much ran full Manthey spec, but on 19”.
The .1RS is great at today’s prices, but you want the .2RS.

ive spoken to some very fast drivers as well running .2RS in soft setting. I was surprised I like stiff better, as I generally like a soft car, perhaps because I’m just to big bumps from Sebring.. The car bounces around a lot but didn’t lose grip and felt better to me.
Im slow at the Ring, so maybe I just have to go faster.

The .2RS is next level up from .1RS in confidence inspiring..
And stock for stock it was a lot faster at Spa. Even compared to Manthey I think it’s faster.
I will say that the extra 20HP doesn’t make up for the extra drag/downforce. And for that matter if a 4.0 GT3 has an equal exit, you won’t catch it..

Good to read the arguments for the .2RS. No doubt it’s the better track weapon. The .1RS is just such a good overall package and looks so good too, it will hard to see it go. Covered in grime and rubber, for me this is one of the best looking cars ever.

That’s why I keep both, the quieter, gentler, pretty purple .1RS and the tougher, rougher, louder, faster, better handling and shifting .2RS..

It is much better looking for sure and it's the best GT car value now. I worried a lot when I sold my .1 that I'd miss is (esp in UV) but the improvements of the .2 are quite a step forward. I do still miss the look.

Trakcar - when you say soft (for GT3 RS II) do you mean soft setting front and rear or just soft setting front.

The reason I ask is I found my car to be near neutral (see data above). Although the logging was conducted under wet conditions which meant corner entry was gentle due to moderated braking.

The pro I was with (green lines on circuit tools plots black circles in friction circle) suggested softer front as he felt there was incipient under steer - this can be seen in the logging but is very minor and possibly exaggerated in the wet.

Need to to do more testing/logging under dry conditions - touch wood.

Think TrackCar mean ...not putting PASM into stiff mode. At a place like Sebring this seems to work better especially in T1 and T17

991.2 GT3 RS check alignment (car one month old ~ 4,000km, 2 x full day track shake down sessions). This is the factory alignment (column LHS) relative to what it should be (column RHS)

Factory spec should be

Caster (fixed)
Camber front - 1.30'+/-0.03"
toe front left 0.01'+/-0.01'
toe front right 0.01'+/-0.01'
total toe front 0.02'+/-0.01

Camber rear -1.30'+/-0.03'
toe rear left 0.10'+/-0.02'
toe rear right 0.10'+/-0.02'
total rear toe 0.20'+/-0.04"

Peter, what oil have you been using in Purple? Thanks for the reports!

You should post the mod progress you are doing to Greenie!

Mike , just the normal Mobil 1 recommended.
0-40 / 0-50.

Lizzard; Full XPEL wrap, Clearplex / tearoffs, ST rotors, Ti pucks, green calipers, air intake screens, seat recliners, side bolster covers, head rest covers, BBI Roll bar but 2 month delivery time, harnesses.

Should all be done before Sept 19 except roll bar ugh.
