I was looking for some info about track setup on the 991.2 gt3 rs

I read many of the threads on the forum and a big part of this one about the 991.1 gt3 rs and had my 991.1 gt3 setup at manthey racing so have some numbers to compare even if not for the rs

I know about rear wing angle adjustment front removable plastic parts under the lower panel grilles etc...

What I was surprised to see is that the 991.2 gt3 rs have already fitted the porsche motorsport 991 cup front shocks top mounds but flipped left to right... so you would have to invert them to get more camber as on the cup cars

Do they also come as standard on the 991.1 gt3 rs?

Are the rear fenders already factory rolled to the correct specs on the 991.2 gt3 rs?

I also found out that porsche document about race track prep and the front and rear minimum height and correct measuring points.

Anyone know if those are still the same minimum height recommended measures for the 991.2 rs?

Anyone know at what height the standard car is (europe or usa and with or without lift fitted) ?

At the moment I already had the car aligned at a local shop but we still have to flip the front top mounts and we lowered it just a little too much so will adjust more.

Many people on the forums are using 0 toe front or slight toe out but with the 991 with RWS I would suggest to try a low amount of front toe in (1.5mm to 2mm total toe in)

These set up numbers was given to me by the Instructor at Porsche Factory at Leipzig, Germany during my Euro delivery.
After hearing my plan of going to the Nurburgring and doing track days heavily, he went to the garage and got these numbers from the mechanics.
He is a factory driver and an awesome guy, I had a great time on track with him at Leipzig.
My car is 991.2 RS

Yeah, that sticky rubber likes more camber. Cup2 N1's don't need -3.5 up front, but Pirelli DH's want -4....LOL. It's always a balancing act.

Yep he suggested it to me to run the Cup2 R, also told me to try the new Goodyear Supersport RS when it comes out

Goodyear seems to be fastest from what I’ve heard as Dunlop and Goodyear are separating into different companies or some such.
Dunlops are faster then MPSC N2 once they get very hot.

About the toe settings he did not wrote if they are intended for each wheel or total but usually porsche specify the front toe as total and the rear for each wheel (I use 1.5mm front total toe in and 2mm each wheel toe in)

Also I measured the ride height at the suggested points in the porsche document (on that document porsche suggest a minimum of 115mm front and 275mm rear still I don t know what should be the oem delivery suggested settings) and actually I m at around 268mm rear and 112mm front...
If using the same points then the suggested 92mm front and 257mm rear seem to be really really low...

I also switched the left and rear front shocks top mounts (as at least on the 991.2 gt3 rs they are as the porsche cup top mounts with the axle hole not centered) to get more camber and so that they are as on the cup cars instead of using extra lower shims.
This worked well as I could easely get -3.1 camber each wheel... I also had indications that suggest that some expert porsche tuners switch them from left to right... but...
By doing so the total width of the front track is less than if you would keep the as standard so that the shock axle stays in an outer position and then make the lower arm wider with shims to get more camber.... I think both ways would be ok to get around -3 of camber.... so did posche fit
those inverted as standard to get the front track wider or are they just there to be switched if making some aggressive geometry setup?
Even visually you can tell that there is now quiet some gap between the top of the wheel and the fender.

Any precise way to measure the ride height using the porsche suggested points as not easy to reach them when the car is on the floor?

Anyone know the oem suggested 991.2 gt3 rs ride height (I forgot to measure them before lowering I just measured the spring thread) or could make some easy approximate measure of the oem height maybe even at the fender arch or at the lift points so I could compare?

Anyone switched the top mounts?

I don t know what dunlops you are talking about but I tried on my 991.1 gt3 the sport maxx race 2 and while they grip ok their feeling is too much as a road sports tryre on the limit with noise and squeal and not that fast.

After them I tried the dunlop sport maxx race old version and in fact they were much better and faster (a little faster than mpsc2 and almost as fast as the trofeo r) and no squealing noises etc they felt like a proper semi slick tyre with soft compound
But their problem is that if used fast on the track they would really not last much and worn out really fast.... much faster than trofeo r.... so they are cheap compared to others but good streetable and fast but probably used soft compound without any modern technology and they dont last....
Dunlop probably tried to make the sport maxx race 2 last longer but I think that they are really too much as a normal sport tyre

On the Dunlops; They feel like a road tire, they almost sound and feel like the tire is graining.
They give early warning but then they hang on better then a MPSC2 N2.
The Michelins are faster only for 2 laps, 3rd lap same then slower.

I do like the sharper feel of the Michelin’s better but at 10/10th the Dunlop will do better laptimes.

Right but then don t you prefer the old dunlop compared to the new dunlop?

On a small twisty track they were noticeably faster... (but of course they wear out really faster)

BTW is there an update version of the porsche technical track use document for the 991.2 gt3 rs?

Does the 991.2 gt3 rs still have to get the rear fenders flared or do they come flared from the factory?

Anyone did that suggested abs wiring mod for rubbing or not necessary?

No. Both the Michelin N1 and Sport Maxx 1 are slower and wear out faster.
The new ones are faster and last longer.
Old Dunlops don't last two days, they chunk to pieces on day two, Maybe its an RS VS GT3 thing, but I am pretty sure of my results.
