Setup numbers RS

But there are multiple people that tried both and the results are that if you want the nannies you need to run the 235 and if you run the 265 you need to turn them off.
Bob Rouleau, one of the moderators on here is using the 265/345 R7 combo.
Nannies off. He's an awesome driver and since I'm nowhere near his skill and experience, I'll run the 235 for the added safety net!

I would agree with you but not so much with the r7
235/35/19 has a tread width of 9.25 in, and a section width of 10.2 in.
265/35/19 has a tread width of 9.6 in. and a section width of 10.4 in.
as a comparison the CUP 2's in 19's are
235/35/19 has a tread width of 7.5 in. and a section width of 9.5 in.
265/35/19 has a tread width of 9.2 in. and a section width of 10.7 in.
the section width on the 235 R7 is 1 inch wider than the 235 cup 2, go figure!

30mm = 1.18 inches
shouldn't that make the 265 R7's 10.33 and the Cup 2's 8.68?

and what did C4SGRPDK mean by "safety net" with regards to 235's?
#499
Generally, the wider tire will deal with the heat energy better. That's the theory anyways. I have not directly tested it myself.
Tire manufactures play pretty loose with the stamped width and actuall width of the tire. Same goes for wear ratings.

Did you have any clearance issues with the lower control arm bolt (I think that is what its called) in the rear?
Will they clear PCCBs?
#501
Technically the wheels fit over the PCCBs yet the tolerace is so tight that track clag gets caught between the front wheel and caliper causing cosmetic damage to the paint of both the wheel and caliper. Here is the link to what can be expected when running 19's with PCCBs.

^ Thank you!
Is that a motorsport part or can I just order from parts dept.? Is the head just shallower?
Porsche needs a little high temp scraper edge to the leading part of the caliper, like a cowcatcher of old or snowplow...
Koenigsegg apparently has one...

Sounds like a neat idea. Maybe save us the time of peeling clag off the wheels.

I suppose he's guessing the rolling diameter difference is giving him a "safety net" from upsetting the nannies. Given he has no experience with either rolling diameter maybe he knows others that have tested with those widths and rolling diameter.

If you run the 235, you can run with the traction and stability control active and working as normal, hence they are there as a safety net if you get something wrong.
I do know of a couple people running both front size at the circuit of Mont-Tremblant.
#505
Front: forgeline GA1R CENTER LOCK 19X9.5 +45
Rear: forgeline GA1R CENTER LOCK 19X12 +47
Tires hoosier R7
Without TC/SC
front: 265/35/19
rear: 345/30/19
with TC/SC
front: 235/35/19
rear: 345/30/19
not 265 front 325 rear, those are GT3 sizes and won't fit the RS

I mean safety net because if you are using the 265, you cannot run with the Traction and stability control on, you need to switch them off

I was hoping to find a set of 19" wheels that will clear PCCB...preferably cheaper than new... and most of stuff for sale is for GT3 and not RS, so if it will fit, that is an option (front difference is only 5 mm).
BTW congrats on your new RS...and thanks for the advice regarding the BBi roll cage install!

also, 19's do fit over the PCCB but you need to ask for that specific application from the manufacturer (aka forgeline, hre etc)
also you will scratch the inner barrel of your wheel and as rocks and rubber pass between the caliper and the wheel.

I have run 19" wheels 265/325 on my RS as I posted above and all seems well with and without the nannies on. Your info about 265/325 not fitting a RS is incorrect.
