Was at local porsche dealership picking up a front splitter replacement for my GT3 and in the showroom was a rhodium silver 2016 991 GT3, asking 35k over msrp. In addition a salesman told me they have an allotment of 3 2016 GT3RS's at 150k over msrp. This is at Mckenna Porsche in Southern California. Dont kill the messenger, just relaying the information.

haha same a man. XD also passed a pts allocation for 60k over, around 6 months ago. I was ready to pay 40 over to a racing buddy for it but he and I both thought 60 was to much but he had others in for 60 +.

I have set up an LLC fir a Montana holding company. Completely legal whether cops like it or not. Stands up to the IRS etc. I've done this with a 991 GT3 and a 997.2 4.0. I'd be happy to share the information. Setting up a Montana LLC and obtain a tax ID pay the nominal filing fees. They tag and handle renewals each year. Very simple and prob saved me around 20k in state sales taxes. A lot of folks do this with motor coaches , planes etc etc. it's a legal loophole and I'll take every legal loophole I can find. I think I pay enough taxes as it is. This is a win for the good guys.

I read this link and it's right on what my experience has been. I use a different agent that is a bit less expensive. I also like the cars are owned by a limited liability co. God forbid something happened i.e.: accident or personal injury and the LLC protects against personal asset suit. Also carry a large umbrella policy in case someone drowns in my swimming pool etc that will cover a lawsuit to grab my personal assets. Gotta protect yourself at all times. Worked too hard to allow an accident to bankrupt me.

I'd be very interested to hear how various states view the Montana LLC set-up. Even if the IRS is okay, In NY, THE Empire State is going to do everything it can to suck the $$ out of your "empire."
I am informed that NYS Tax and Finance Dep't sees a move such as this as tax avoidance maneuver, not as an estate planning tool. So, if they climb on your back for a Montana registered vehicle, then you are looking at paying the sales tax, plus penalties, etc. Do we have any tax attorneys in here who can comment? On paper it sounds like a smart move, but is it truly a winner? I do have a track friend who resides in an East Coast state and he titled/registered his GT3 in a Montana LLC and insures it through Hagarty. He has no registration/insurance/state issues that I am aware of...............
