Colorado went after (successfully) RV owners doing the Montana thing a few years ago. The sales tax is painful in most states, and get that is part of buying a car. My bigger issue is the recurring annual registration fee here, which for a GT3 is nearly $4k... Absurd to pay that to register one car each year.
For those that have done this, any issue with insurance?

No way I'll mess with CA and Montana plates. I'm a resident of NV but I have a 2nd home in CA and I spend time in both states a good bit of time. I use the no sales tax on private party car purchases in NV and register the cars there. I drive around CA with my NV registered cars without any problems and it's not that uncommon that I would stick out like a sore thumb. If I do get pulled over in CA I show them my NV license, NV insurance, and NV registration and say that I'm here for a few days on business. They can't really say or do anything.

I get bent over to the tune of 2300 a year to register my car. I have other "options" but chose to follow the law. I was raised with the idea that " you cannot cheat an honest man "

Would the "annual registration fee" be a personal property tax bill like they have in VA and other states or any car, boat, or bike registered in the state? I paid PPT on vehicles when I lived in Arlington, VA, and think they were set by the county and not the state.
Seems extreme for annual registration.

Yeah. Sadly, I'm almost certain these are not a new batch of allocs. Also, McKenna, just like Auto Gallery, is known for boarding their allocs, speccing the car, and then sitting on it for a sucker to come by and overpay for it.

I sure hope so. We need to get Martin his MSRP RS. I doubt there will be more and the reason is the last round was more of a bonus not a true allocation. That's why I don't think they will make more 2016. Perhaps 2017 though.
