[QUOTE=batmanm3;12868624]e46 m3 S54 with manual...sweet spot for looks, fun, power, handling, weight, reliability...

I ordered this spec in 2003 Cab , oxford green w/ cinnamon leather

just a wonderful car dressed it with bold M color pinstripes .

Agreed, the GTS might be fast but I think the last FUN M car was the Z4M Coupe... though I'm biased...

That's a keeper. E46 in a lighter, shorter wheelbase car. Does not get much sweeter.

The 'Ring speed is a marketing tool and little else. It ignores the character and ethos and to some extent even the engineering of a car in favour of a single best effort numerical comparison which is only genuinely objective if conditions and driving skills are the same across all comparators, and if the results are thoroughly repeatable. Even then, it says little about a car's enjoyability on the street. The Nordschleife isn't very much like most streets...or tracks for that matter.
Full MTC is still covered. Just sold My 2013 M5 and picked up a M4 all covered 4 years or 50k which ever occurred first.

My thought is that the 'Ring time for the 991 GT3 RS was 7:20, and for the 991 GT3 it was 7:25.

unfortunately, CSL was never available in NA.
Though the 15 yr old time limit is approaching...so I have thought about trying to find a low mileage japanese CSL to import into Canada ...

And then convert it to 6 sp manual

Very interesting. Thank you for that. I recently went to a local dealer as male ballast with a newly divorced female friend who was interested in an X3 and the general manager - no less - was telling her that the 4-year plan was discontinued except as a chargeable option. I didn't question it. I foresee a call to BMWNA.

Please don't let facts interfere with the fantasy of the GTS outperforming both the GT3, and RS

Still free for 4 years, or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Yup some of those guys are bozos, and looks like they lost a sale. I never keep a bimmer out of warrantee. I got the M4 because I wanted a fun DD to hold me over until the 2017 Panamera GTS ,hits the road.

And with VW at the helm it's only a matter of time until that happens.
