This weekend it was time for NLS3.

Not much to say about it. We did decent qually but ran into another car in turn 1 at start.
After quick repairs (lower control arm was damaged) we continued but the setup of the car was out of alignment.
5 laps and then we quit.

Sunday it was Touristdriving again.
Sunday evening is when the Scuderia Hanseat welcome dinner is supposed to take place but unfortunately the course had to be cancelled because the participants has no place to overnight.
It is currently forbidden for private persons to stay at hotels in Germany (Covid restrictions). (I'm allowed because NLS racing is considered a professional sports event.)

Next trip to Germany will be in the beginning of June for the 24-hour race.

Speaking of N24H: I just watched this documentary again - I must say that it top class.

It is supposed to be straight.

This is where the Scuderia Hanseat welcome dinner should have been... Currywurst mit pommes und majo

It has been a very cold hell this spring.

Back home I found this: A sign.
Nürburgring in the 24H configuration.

On Saturday it is time for maybe the greatest race of all: Nürburgring 24 Hours.

This will be my third N24H.

This time in a Hyundai i30N built by Peninsula Carlsson.

I'm not racing my own car this year because my team mate can't participate.

Car has never raced so it will be a challenge just tp put it on the starting line (5.5h qually before race start.)

Start number: 89

Weather looks interesting. Massive thunderstorms expected today and today we do two qually sessions today.

12:30 CET 90 min
20:30 CET 180 min

We where lucky with weather in Q1: started in wets and then slicks when went into the car. Track almost dry at that point.

Lesson to learn: do not trigger the fire extinguisher 30 min before going on track

We are trying to learn the car and we hope we can push more in the evening - if it is dry.
Car feels generally good but I have never driven a turbo car or a fwd on track. Some details needs to change. I'm very glad though that my timing seems to work with this car too.

Classics are 5 min from starting their Q1:
Thunder and rain at the moment.

I started in wets but had to change to slicks after two laps. It cost us some time but the upside is that we still are in the race.

I think I got lucky: didn't need to drive in the bad fog that suddenly came.
