If there is someone that has the "ability" to cut through the rumor mill, I'm betting on anonymous918 figures: put me in the camp of RS engine. i'd like to revise my HP estimate to 525hp from original 550hp.

what can I say?.. this is the back page of it.. the front is not meant to be shared. My intent in posting is to validate the existence of the car, in order to put to bed the wild rumors of it's demise due to it's flying off into the distance during testing due to lack of wings.

Yup. It's annoying. I have been waiting for Porsche to build a car like this since the 911 went water-cooled. If they finally do, but do not make it possible to buy, there is no reason to be a fan of the brand.

I am no lawyer but some time ago I posted that this car with 500 hp or so , no wing and skinnier tires sounded like a lawyers delight. There will always be some crazy that will take such car beyond the limit. The lawsuit will be instantaneous claiming that the car was not suitable for the driver. Just like Paul Walker's family. If the various nannies are put in the enthusiasts claim foul, when they are left out the the personal injuries lawyers rejoice. Not surprised to hear there is a tug of war going on.
There is very old case, I think it is called McPherson v. Buick (?) that established some kind of legal doctrine on car liability. I think I read this somewhere but don't quote me on it. Cars need to suitable for their intended purpose.

I'd say I will be in the camp of exact "Same Engine" (500BHP) as that of the 991 GT3RS for the soon to be released 911R.
GT3RS is the top dog in the "Naturally Aspirated" engine arena. It wouldn't be top dog if the 911R surpasses the BHP rating. This is not to say Porsche cannot tweak more juice from that engine. Even though this is limited production, there is still a "Pecking Order." Just my $0.02.

Odd whispers circulating today from RC on RT is that Porsche board may not have given the "green light" for the 911R and this may not occur until possibly after a prototype is shown in Geneva; rumour has it there may be legal issues around the amount of aero that can be developed sans big a$$ wing. (I'm just the messenger!!!)
However this was contradicted by another (fairly reliable?) user who stated the car is a go, and provided this (?level 3) info:
Reading between the lines, does this translate to over 500 hp?????
Interesting days ahead. I'm very curious what they've decided to do with this unicarn (yes, CAlexio, I just made up that word).

Isn't there a wing delete option for GT3 and some owner actually order GT3 without the wing and that is not an issue for Porsche.
