I really like the Trofeo's. They feel more like a slick than the Michelins, although the Mich's are good. when the Mich's heat cycle out they have zero grip no matter the tread left.

Does anyone know when the R7 will be out in 20"?

I don't think anybody knows for sure, but I've heard Fall of 2016 from multiple folks.

I'm anxious to try them. Drivers running the R7 on 19" wheels are getting 2-2.5 seconds at Road Atlanta compared to the Cup2s.

I asked Jeff Speer from Hoosier last week about this, and he said the Corvette guys were going to get their sizes first and then Porsche sizes will be made. He said, "Stay tuned to our website or write me next Spring for any news regarding this." This says to me it will not be before summer that we will see A7/R7 in 20" Porsche sizes--more likely towards Fall.

Ran at COTA yesterday. Made it down into the mid 2:26.xx range with a small traffic run in pretty much every lap. With a little work and some open laps I'm hoping to see some 2:24s to 2:25s.

As a side note, I'm thinking the Michelins are a bit faster than the Dunlops.

I don't know what you guys are doing to get over 15 cycles out of tires. My Trofeo Rs have 6 sessions with my increased camber settings and I am going to predict 6 more and done. And the last session or 2 won't be pretty, just me punishing them for being so short-lived.

I'm with you. Well, for most of the driving season at least. We were seeing just about a weekend out of the Michelins, but by the end of the year we saw good usable life past the weekend (PCA Fall-Fling at BIR). The setup was dialed and the temps were cool, but even so. The tire boogers sure do make for cool liveries by the end of a weekend.

Ryan. What settings do you think helped with MPSC2 longevity?

I have the car setup with an aggressive street alignment. The car sees plenty of track time, but does get out for some Cars & Coffee and occasional street driving, as well as to & from the track so we had to be relatively conservative. It's running roughly -2.8* camber up front and -2.4* in the rear with a touch of rear toe-in. The car is on Cup bushings all around, which helps keep the setup from deflection and thus from any odd wear patterns.

Between the alignment & corner balance, Cup hardware, and a ride height adjustment (lower) the car came together nicely. Proper warm up & cool down laps also help to retain their usable life in my experience. MPSC2s are awesome tires all things considered.

My tire temps tell me the numbers above are good (or close) for Trofeo R, too. I hate to run huge front camber 'cause I think it starts to hurt braking performance and if you do street drive the overall camber wear will tend to cancel out.

My settings are similar, including lowering the car, and I'm getting good wear on the Cup2s and Trofeos. Are you heat cycling your tires? I'm surprised this isn't mentioned more frequently as a variable in these longetivity discussions.

Had a amazing time at COTA this weekend. Great meeting all the fellow rennlisters.

The car is stinking fast on 19" Hoosier R7s. Ran a few 2:22.1x and I know there is 2:20s in me. Post up some video later in the week of the 2:22.1xs and of me chasing down another good amateur driver in a 675LT on Trofeo Rs. Little bit of a tire mismatch between us, but I'll take it.

That is haulin. 20 is not that far off pace from the Cup cars doing 17/18s.

How much difference in lap time between R7 and Cup 2?

At COTA this weekend one Rennlister swapped back and forth between Hoosers and SC2. Seemed be 3-5 second difference.
The guys running Hoosers seemed to run 2:22-2:25.
I couldn't do any better than 2:29 on SC2s. Hoopumpers did 2:24 in his RS in SC2s.
