Reference Guide to PTS
#1682
I ordered my car in early 2015. PTS was not confirmed by PAG till a few months after launch of the RS. My car just locked in a few days ago and not expecting my car before JULY!!
U got an allocation and a chance to have PTS. I believe it is worth the wait.. It's not easy but we all got to do it lol

Eduardo, are there any other colour/codes similar to what went on with the Signal green 3 codes? So in other words, are there similar names of colours that have changed codes? Would it not just be easier and much less confusion to just change the names if they are actually different shades of a particular colour. Hope you understand what I'm trying to ask.

Take 225 as an example: in 1973 when launched for the RS it was Emerald Green on the official factory paint charts.
In 1973 "Lime Green" referred to 226 (Lind Green or Chartreuse) in 1974 "Lime Green" referred to 137 (Green Yellow now or Gelbgrun).
If you really want to know the names/color codes for each era you need to buy the official 4 language paint charts that Porsche produced at the time.

Colors have changed name constantly through the early years, mostly in English but sometimes in German as well.

They are not the cheapest place to buy a car from.. They have a crazy collection of cars. Most cars are privately owned and the majority of them are on consignment from different collectors. That particular car has been with them for at least 2 years! I say YOLO and buy it cause its Green and Yellow

of 'Signal Green'. It's truly a completely different color
which should not be called 'Signal Green'. That is why
I wrote the following in post #1755:
names which have kept their historic vintage color code designation
are the most faithful to their original vintage, or historic, color & hue.
'Signal Yellow' is still 114. 'Lichtgrün' is still 253. 'Viper Green' is still
225. Unfortunately, 'Signal Green' is no longer color code 217...and
perhaps that tells 'a' story about the color formula mixed for 22S.

Yes, that would make sense. Especially for W25 version
of 'Signal Green'. It's truly a completely different color
which should not be called 'Signal Green'. That is why

Yes, there are. But in general, we assume that those vintage color

are the most faithful to their original vintage, or historic, color & hue.

Thank you so much Jamie!!
As usual, thanks a lot for all the time and patience you devote to us! Looking forward to see the car, I'm getting really excited about it!!
That's super helpful, especially because when I first saw your picture I was in love with the color!! But knowing it might look completely different in real life, I'll keep my fingers crossed until the day I'll see mine live!
maxt:
Jamie has done a great job of posting those 'Gelbgrün' photos for you.
As you might know, he is getting a gt4 in that stunning color too!

The color above Signalgreen on the new wall at Porsche Zuffenhausen is Birchgreen. The green on the right is Gelbgrün (I took the samples from the wall and read the color names).
The GT3 RS I saw a few weeks ago at the factory is confirmed as Gelbgrün.

You should be angry. But look at it from the German side,
PAG put 'Blue Francia Metallic' on the approved PTS list
over one year ago & there is yet not one Frenchman to claim
he (or she) has chosen that beautiful color for their Porsche!
Maybe the Germans are pissed at your countrymen for this
lack of national ardor? Ever thought of that? Sacré Bleu!

Do you have a picture of a car in this color, or at least a template?

'Blue Francia'...
You are welcome, gentlemen!
******
No, I do not. That is why I jokingly responded
tongue-in-cheek to our French friend (above).
But I would love to find out what this color looks
like.
We know that 'Blue Francia' was a known color
for Alfa Romeo in the late 60's. But it's a solid/uni
& not a metallic.
Blu Francia/French Blue /Bleu France/Französisch Blau
Paint Code(s): AR-342.
***
So a Porsche customer could have prepared a sample
of 'Blue Francia' but in a Metallic finish, rather than
a Solid, and submitted it as a PTS color for feasibility
testing at Porsche. The program, after all, is called
'Paint-to-Sample'! But that would be just speculation
on my part.
