The odd thing is that every time there is a now RS it never seems to be worth the premium, but later on, the depreciation alone compensates for the incremental cost.

We were asking him something about that in the GT3 and he has been setting up cars for what like 30 years and his feel for a car is way beyond anything I could approach. The Rear Wheel Steering was mentioned and I think that is a bit of a wild card when it comes to setup especially for guys so used to "normal" race cars. If you are like me and have no real experience it isn't a factor but I think if you really know your stuff it may have to be taken into account for the setup.

Apparently from what i ve read so far

under 124 mph the RS is not more than a GT3

ground clearence GT3 is better

aesthetically (to me) GT3 is better

still don t find any good reason to go for it

indeed over 124 mph downforce come into play seriously
but as of today my goal is not to beat Marco Mapelli Lambo SV750 at Nurb...

I'm assuming that Randy and other testers are driving the cars as given to them, rather than tinkering with the setups, so maybe something was off with the GT3 Randy drove?

FWIW, when I was recently at Watkins Glen in the GT3, I was surprised at how much speed I could carry up the esses (about 115-120 mph through the bridge for T4), and I'm guessing that's partly due to the aero. So maybe the added aero of the RS makes a significant difference in typical turns with speeds less than 124 mph?

0 124 under 10 sec

MOTOR TREND 991 RS review by Randy.. Was expecting more from him on handling, transmission, chassis and grip.. He didn't seem to comment much on these.

http://youtu.be/PSX7EGZ5reY

The noise is intoxicating.. More growl than the gt3 i noticed..

Great for car testing but too much roller coaster for me.
Nah, you're there; better to let no itch go unscratched.

Faster on track, better on the street, bling, bling CF and Mg bits, hand of god downforce, better resale value. No brainer. If you can, you must.

+1 - Randy's review is probably the best review yet in terms of analyzing the car.

It will be interesting to see if I think I still need my TT when I get this car.
My TT is my DD about 25 percent of the time.
