I find it very hard to believe more allocs won't drop before the end of the run. Remember, the first car hasn't even been delivered yet. We're month away from US customer deliveries.

Relax.

It's practically unheard of for Porsche to not trickle in more and more allocs over the next few months. (In fact, if what I'm reading / hearing is correct, they're already trickling in -- a very very slow trickle, but anything greater than zero is better than zero.)

Because he wants one to his spec. I would call the 20 largest dealers tell them you will pay over list and leave a number. Bet you get a call back.

Seriously, everyone's talking like MY2016 is over, and it was confirmed that this car won't exist for a second MY.

Or like this is a numbered car, and all allocations have been given out.

Neither is true right now.

MY2016 hasn't even begun yet!

Sometimes it's better to pay over MSRP and get exactly what you want than to wait and pay more for a higher specked dealer car with a bunch of **** options. the dealer makes the same profit in the end...

I agree. My '11 RS had 30k worth of crap I wouldn't have done.

I find it hard to believe the will be MY 2017 RS cars....if they do, then I feel 100% I will get one. Right now I only feel 95% sure...my dealer GM says 98%...lol

Oh, I don't actually think there will be a MY2017 991.1 GT3 RS... There might be, but I don't think there will be.

What I am saying is that *all* MY2016 allocations cannot possibly be out yet. I refuse to believe that (knowing what I know about Porsche).

They aren't...the second round of allocations will happen in May from what I have heard.

As do I. As do I.

But, let's think about it for a second. PAG likes money. PAG is known for doing this, time and time again (burst of allocations initially, that don't satisfy demand, then allocations trickle in -- then sometimes even a surprise set of allocs drop even after that). Look back to the 991.1 GT3 for a recent example.

The only time it'll be truly over this early is if they were building 500 numbered cars, and all 500 allocations were given out already.

Unless they plan on introducing the 991.2 GT3 RS immediately after they announce the 991.2's (for MY2017), there's no reason to cut the 991.1 GT3 RS model year short. Ending it in December is what's considered "short."

As such, calm logic would dictate that there will be another round of allocations and/or a slow trickle of allocations over the next few months for builds in early early 2016 (deliveries through, and probably ending in, May 2016).

Yup, same here. I've heard either end of April or some time in May.

Exactly! It's more about getting what I want than anything. Plus I had considered a Speciale (was offered custom build) and even 30k over msrp is a better price.

Yeah, and not just from pre-owned value increases, but because the options list is always insane with Ferrari's. Base MSRP is $288k.

I think when I tried maxing it out (with just normal, not bespoke, options), I can top it off at $505k. Despite its reputation, Porsche doesn't even come close in this game.

Ditto on my end too. At least that's why my dealer keeps claiming I'm due for a 4Q allocation. May can't come soon enough as having an allocation would put my mind at rest even if I had to wait a year to actually take delivery!
