Wheel Finish Already Chipped. Remedy?

I agree, this seems multifactorial, the design and lack of a clear coat. I took a close look at my wheels today and counted all the chips. The fronts have 7-10 and the rears have 4 each.
Here's a pic of the left front, it looks terrible.
Mike and others, do you think all of us should be calling PCNA?

But PCNA was glad to get the info directly and established a case # for me. If nothing else, at least now it's documented with them and I think it's good for them to know this is not just an isolated issue. My $.02.

It's a long thread, and I'm sorry if it's already been discussed, but assuming it is a warranty claim, what would the warranty cover or do?
New wheel?
Refinished wheel?
Something else?
Thanks.

Good question. I imagine it depends in part on whether it's just a bad paint batch or a universal problem related to the wheel design or paint process. No point in providing new wheels if people are just going to experience the same problem over again.

This is just another reason why I shouldn't wash my wheels(which I hate doing, but always waste so much time cleaning every crevice). Now they are so dirty, I have no idea how many chips I may have.

Probably the aero and a soft finish coating. The latter may be improved but the design aero will continue pounding it on roads full of debris - our roads.
One option might be a hard impact anodization of some sort. I doubt clear coating will solve the problem - it will just mask it for a while and eventually get pitted through.
You have to realize that everything is a compromise. Sleek fan rims are attractive but they are more prone to this. The other thing is our roads are full of junk and it seems nobody cares.
