Good for you! Unless you speak up and take the next step nothing gets resolved.

I get this all the time in the line of work I'm in. When issues arise we're the first ones to always pick up on it, and are made to feel like we may be the only ones having them.

The reality being after awhile others start paying attention and the whole scope of the problem becomes apparent.

Prefer a lasting aesthetic solution. Simply because the chip spots look like they are flaking or will begin to flake and spread (raised chip edges), I think replacement makes sense. If I already have so many chips, what will the wheels look like in a month or a year? My hope is that I just have a bad set and the problem is not endemic.

I also called PCNA today and got a case number on this issue. If I never got another chip I'd be ok with the touch up I've done but I know there will be more to come and I wanted to establish a documentation trail.

PCNA: 800-767-7243. Ignore the prompts and wait for rep to come on.

Thanks! Maybe by time I get my car and have accumulated numerous chips they will have found some resolution...

How long does it last? I have always kept my wheels waxed which lasts about as long as a couple fast runs.

Not to get too off topic, but Rejex is a great sealant for wheels, and lasts pretty long. I used OptiCoat this fall for the first time, not the Pro version, on the wheels. I suspect this to last a little longer. Won't know till I get the car out of hibernation in April.

I have OptiCoat Pro on the car, and this should last about 2 years before a touch-up is required. More for paint correction again, than for gloss and protection.

A great wheel topper, is Armor All Wheel Protectant. $7 at Walmart. Really great between washings. I've done over a 1,000 miles (no rain) between washings, and the wheels stay very-very clean of brake dust. Cheaper than PCCB's.

Mostly makes dirt and debris and brake dust slide off. Otherwise, only light protection at best. Yes, as mentioned, makes for easy hose spray rinsing.

Guys, thanks for reporting these issues to PCNA. I think everyone who experiences chipping should open a case. It will help the community get a real resolution.

Where's Clexio ... gotta be the perfect excuse to try out plasti-dip.

And I'm surprised no one has tried the spray on 3M clear bra or having their wheel spokes covered in Xpel.

I'm only half joking.

If such wheel products existed, I would be all over them.

I must admit clear plastic dip for wheel protection has crossed my mind. Unfortunately, I've accumulated a handful for chips/nicks in ~5K miles, and did not get around to trying this.
