Just out of curiosity, but does the car need a new front end alignment after removing the strut ?

Dealer called. They lubricated spring and heim joint. According to them, its now quiet. I pick it up in the morning.
I love it when a thread works out!

You don't need alignment if you're careful and line/mark everything up the way it was...

I probably would not have thought about it until you mentioned it! I'm glad I was going in today for oil change. Strange, I never did get the oil change as they have no filters... How crazy is that?

Got my car back this morning. Bad noises gone. Good noises still here! Happy camper and thanks for the guidance on the heim joints. They lubed the spring perches and heim joints and the car is dramatically better.
Also... Talked to Jack Swint - Hennessy's shop foreman and the guy who worked on my car. He is apparently one of the most senior Porsche Master Techs in the country.
At any rate, he said Porsche is conservative on lubing of the Heim joints because lubing them can lead to premature wear. I found that interesting and just another piece of the puzzle. Then he said "Remember - this is a track car. It's supposed to make noises!"
