Getting to the local track requires clearing some bumps on the way. At least one of them is a big mean one, on which I would be inclined to push the lift button. Last time when exiting the autodrome I saw a 991 gt3 literally crawling over the tiny bumps in the tunnel area causing a line of cars behind him. So another reason to get the lift would be to avoid looking silly like that. Just needing to be over cautious all the time can be a pain for yourself and others.

The huge downside to the lift is $$$ cost.

I'd be screwed without my lift.

I live in Atlanta. I have 1,200 miles on my beautiful baby so far. My thoughts on the lift:

1. I am sure it's possible to use the car without the lift and some people take pride in the gymnastics getting into gas stations and speed humps at an angle; however, I would've paid 2-3x the $3k price for the functionality of the lift. There are still some areas I can't get into even with it up.

2. Part of the utility is in that you can enter / exit an area with the nose up at much greater speed, so that means you are less likely to get rear ended when making a right turn into a gas station or lot b/c cars behind you aren't expecting you to make a full stop before entering. Also, on left hand turns crossing traffic into a gas station or parking lot, you minimize risk of getting t-boned b/c you know that if the grade looks reasonable, then you can enter at a reasonable speed.

3. The lift has been a no-brainer for me and I wouldn't be able to use it with joy in-town without it.

Spot on with potential being rear ended. I like the term gymnastics.

That left turn onto an apron is a killer for me. Lift will help immensely

of course that doesn't include the latest claim that somehow the lift compromises suspension performance as recently alleged by an unknown professional driver.

$3400 for 1.18 inch seems expensive to me. Knowing that I would have only a liitle over an inch more clearance would not be confidence inspiring to me. I would still be crawling over speed bumps and the like.

That's what I thought so I passed. I may regret it, and I'll soon find out.

So far so good for me. I can get up and down my driveway without scraping. Also tested it over regular speed bumps and the flat top ones, with no scraping.

My thoughts as well. Many cars with the lift will likely have the same scrapes as no lift cars in short time. Yes, it will help where you could not otherwise go. Maybe I'll regret too. I'll know at some point.

Amazing this is still be debated. Each buyer needs to buy what they love, and what will make them happy. Hate to say it boys we all spent between 130k to 165k on a toy(:
