Sunspots I heard were the cause making it tricky for those German engineers to recreate the problem.

Yeah,my favorite was the wrench left behind. I personally have been told by several dealers they read Rennlist on a daily basis. They must have been having a party laughing in the SA office reading it that day!

I am so sorry. I just spread a rumor that the PDK didn't overheat. Mea Culpa...

Maybe so, but the vast majority of 997gt3rs' around these parts have never seen the track, unless its next to a Starbucks. If you want a really hard core ride, take a spin in a 930 on the track, now that is fun!

I can confirm that. I know of a lot of gents here in NY who own very capable cars of all brands that will never track their cars. One of the main reasons are that the closest track is 1.5 hours away and the next is 2.5 hours away. The 1.5 hour track requires a 20-100K membership.

Wait, so all those guys in the 997 GT3 forum that love to dog on 991 GT3 buyers for being soft and boast about how 997 GT3 people are all hard core trackers are.... (gasp)... WRONG???

There's a 997.2gt3rs4.0 at a dealer now on consignment with only a few hundred miles, things never even been out on a cloudy day. Very common. There's an orthodontist I know with 4 gt3s, none of them have ever left Nassau county.
Yes, all the tracks are far, but metro pca and other groups go to many, I've been to every one around here dozens of times, but it's always a hassle.
Back to topic, I'd just sit back and let porsche address the issue, you got nothing to worry about, they are usually all over this stuff.
