Consolidated 991RS thread

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I just saw this photo (even though it's not that new). From this angle, does anyone think the way the light is reflecting on the camo panel on the hood looks like it's indented in the shape of a NACA duct? Probably more likely that it's an intake they're hiding rather than stripes (an alternative theory) which would probably have been easy to leave off IMO and wouldn't distort the light that way.

Macca - I believe you may be right. I think the 2015 RS will be NA and this could be the last of NAs for the GT series. I have also stated before that the RS will be PAGs "Swan Song". If I was die hard track junkie this car would be a "must have" because I think it is going to be a monster.

Maybe it'll have an aero hood like an old GT40 or the new 458 Speciale?

I can't quite see it being a duct- it's far enough back on the hood that it's in a high pressure area, so it'd be an intake rather than an exhaust duct, and I'm not sure there's a great use in that location. There is also the issue that big ducts tend to be important for cooling, etc, so you don't really want to test with them covered up...

They could be hiding a center hood fill? The race cars have used center fill, and if one stuck out it might make a reflection like that?

Jury still out but it certainly seems that way.
Is it just me or do the wing supports look taller than those on the 997.2 RS? Perhaps they took a page from Baron's aftermarket solution to improve rear visibility.
