In preparation for the track, I ordered an extra set of pads… they're $1000.00 U.S. dollars, front and rear.
Yikes.
I spoke to Carbotech and Switzer Performance today.
Looking for cheaper solutions.
BTW, knowing ahead of time how expensive ceramics were, these are for the Steel rotors. I can't even imagine what the ceramics will be?

$1000 is madness. FD Motorsports can source them for Suncoast pricing too I suspect.
You will be-able to buy Pagid and Endless soon for them for that kind of money and they will be proper track pads.
Just curious but how quickly do you anticipate the pads to wear? Do you think the rears will wear faster given the PTV?

+1 to suncoast is the place to buy P-parts, BUT my dealer matches those guys so I buy from my dealer at Suncoast prices. This way you support your local dealer and at the same time you don't get ripped off.

Actually Ceramic pads are cheaper than Steel pads by $15 per axle. $279 for ceramic vs steel which is $295. I always knew the pads were about the same price for 997.2's but this is good news for 991.

Stock pads are pretty cheap, and when aftermarket gets to it, it's going to be even cheaper. I don't see a reason to worry there. It's very small price compared to tire costs.

Spoke to Carbotech today.
Purchased stock OEM brakes and shipping to them to cut.
I've seen Suncoast offering OEM's at $295 per set, but hope Carbotech will stop shorter and still be less expensive.
Running VIR in a few weeks and hope to have back by then.

There's nothing special about ceramic pads. It's just another rebadged steel brake pad formula.
Regarding prices - yeah, they're commensurate with price of the car. No surprise. 996 or 997 pads aren't much cheaper.
