Also, I think the rear lower vents are facing the wrong direction, and again, the 997 ones were perfect. Love the front end.. I'm going to add those old school black paint guards which went on the leading edge of rear wheel hump on turbo models in the 1980's
I think those are functional aero, not styling, tweaks. Personally, I'd rather have something do good than look good, although having both is nice. That said, I have no problems with those details on the 991 GT3.

A car with a manual transmission and bi-xenon lights will be an antique.
I went to my dealer to see some 991’s with the new LED’s – I actually really like them (and added them to my build). Most high end cars are going to LED now (including most Porsche models) so it will help future-proof the car.
Tough to justify the cost, but somehow I did

True. The future in Porsche headlights is demonstrated coming right at you in the sequenced photos shown below - all taken during the first morning of the 918 Test Track day for deposit holders & prospects at The Thermal Club in Palm Springs last Thursday!

Yeah but didnt it look so much better as a proto type in the dozens of marketing shots when it had the Xenons! Go google and you will see.

The LED lights on the 918 look very odd. It all looks very Logans Run to me. LED is not new tech now and some of these offerings with DRL look very glitzy and off (ricer?).

Each to their own I guess. I do agree to some degree its future proofing but I dont like the cheap chrome finish in the flesh on the 991 GT3 LEDs and I dont' like the way they change the "face " of the car...

I understand where you are coming from. I am an unrepentant 'oldtimer'. To me the best front & headlights on a Porsche were designed inside a refurbished sawmill in the Austrian state of Carinthia in 1948. But it's hard to argue with modern progress in headlight technology. LED are the ultimate...until they develop the next best thing!

The 991 GT3 looks great in person. Not a fan of the silver color though.

Hi,

I stopped by the show today and they had it locked up so I could not get a great look inside. They had the Turbo, GT3 and 50th anniversary parked side by side.

1. Looked better in real life than the pictures, made me want the car more
2. The rear flanks were noticeably bigger and better than the 50th anniversary edition
3. Seeing it next to the turbo did not make me want to change cars
4. The nose was longer than I thought it would be and can see how the front lifter could be useful
5. I did not want the silver, but it looked damn nice.

I will load up my pictures later.

^. Agreed. The GT3 front and rear vents were very sexy compared to the turbo. Such that at first I didn't realize the cab next to it was a turbo S.....

For those that saw the car in person at the LA Auto Show, would you go Rhodium or GT Silver ?

I'm still on the fence between White, GT Silver and maybe Rhodium.

Disagree. Maybe the most expensive cars made by a company, i.e. 911 turbo, Mercedes AMG, but I don't think for a minute that a 991 GT3 with the current powerful halogen headlights, would look dated in 5 years. No way am I paying over 3 grand just for LEDs.

Serge944: what did you not like about the silver in person? What color would you pick over that. I can't for the life of me decide between Rhodium and White or LED vs. halogen. I think I'm just going to flip a coin for both.
