Default Jump on the bandwagon or wait for the RS?

First post here and first 911 as well but not new to high performance cars, infact never had a car that made less than 500bhp stock which has me a little concerned already.

So, I have a fully specced GT3 come in at $165k which im supposed to pay the downpayment for on Saturday, so im wondering if I should go for it or wait for the GT3 RS because I don't like second best

The purpose here is pure street driving, yet driving a track oriented car doesn't really scare me or bother me either.

Suggestions?

Yeah, here is a suggestion, go get a Lotus Elise and learn to drive it well. There is more to a car than HP...

yup, and dont forget to add taxes and fees!

I bet a nicely specced RS would be in the hi $100k.

Oh what the hell, F it. Just get a 918. 900hp right?

I don't see how "turbo" is the answer to the gt3 vs gt3 rs question. Might as well suggest getting a panamera.

You should wait for an RS. Will be the best Porsche you can buy until the next iteration. GT3 will be better street car, a bit softer, but the RS will be the top of the 911 pryamid, but not the most expensive 911.

Go back to your dealer - make a deal for GT3 and an RS - get the GT3, drive for a year or so and when the RS comes in decide if it is time for something new, if so you have an RS waiting for you and a dealer loving the opportunity to take your GT3 back for the next guy.

If the OP can find a dealer with a free allocation for a GT3 that is, never mind a short RS list!

Please dont buy a Porsche. If the lowest BHP car youve ever owned is 500 you are either very young or very wealthy and the GT3 may only disappoint. I think also the RS as it will be "only" about 500 bhp and much more expensive the the base GT3. I would suggest 918 or the new Corvette dependent on whether you are very young or very wealthy LOL!

P.S. Please also vote on the % Personal Net Wealth Thread

OP wrote "The purpose here is pure street driving.." and wanting big HP.

I think the Turbo gets him that.

Well they have 32 GT3s on order, 30 of which are white, cant remember the other two. They still had two allocations left for the February production which arrives in Dubai on April.
